They shouldn't even allow a puppetry class if he teaches it. I was so excited, but by the end half the students dropped out. He supplies ZERO INSTRUCTION on the mechanics of actual puppet engineering and humiliates you in class when you show up with something you constructed with no understanding of how to put it together. Terrible instructor.

Hes a very controlling teacher, its true.if youre looking for a class where you can let free your artistic passion,well this might not be the class for you.but truth be told, i did learn a lot about the process of set design.if you can respect him for his experience and youre ok with not having an opinion about your work, you can handle this class

Unhelpful and unkind. He designed my work. I didn't do anything creative in his class. He also said hurtful things to students that did not agree with him. he's a diva. It is because of him I never want to set foot in a set design class ever again. You learn more in 110 and the prereq to 360. He teaches how to copy. Avoid him at all costs!!!!

This is suppose to be a design class, but he wouldn't let me do anything I wanted. He would disregard any ideas that I have and force me to do what he wanted to see done. I found it easier to just take me work home rather than trying to get it done in class. If you ask for help, he will take an hour to finally come see you.

Fun course in everything about making theater. A lot of time working on projects on my own. But everything covered and practiced in class came together at the end creating my first scenic design. I was proud of my work. Get ready to use a lot color.
