Mike, and his lectures, taught me not only knowledge about Statistics, but also equipped me adequate data analytical skills to conduct information extraction and data reduction, both of which rendered my survival and success in real world wherein large data pervasive. Thank you, Mike.

Tests were near impossible for the time allotted, expects 7-9 free response questions not resembling anything found in the textbook. His lectures relied on dated notes that he has used for years and the lectures were usually sections ahead of where we were in the homework. I've never struggled with math until his class.

Did not seem very interested in teaching, although the exams were very reasonable. Was helpful one-on-one but during class he just progressed through a series of pre-written notes that were nearly illegible at times.

The only thing I liked was how he began each lecture with a joke, which on most days deserved a chuckle. It all went downhill from there. His lectures are hard to retain anything from, and there is a definite disconnect between the notes and the homework. His tests are too long for the time allotted and all in all, I recommend staying away.

Extremely difficult to understand sometimes. Liked to focus of the theoretical aspect of the material and ignore the homework problems. Goes through stuff very quickly and lets the TA control the homework grading. If you have already taken statistics before it is a piece of cake, otherwise try to avoid him.

Very confusing lectures, monotone, hard to follow, test averages were 58-60% and he didn't curve! Nothing he lectured on stuck with anyone long enough to be used on his tests

This teacher hasnt changed his teaching notes in 10years, they are really hard to read and dont give any clue on how to do the homework or study for tests. The HW he assigns has nothing to do with what you have learned in class or what will be on the tests. He doesnt care if the students do badly & he spits everwhere. Wait till spring semester if y

The guy spits on the overhead during lecture. Class made zero sense and the exams and homework was extremely difficult. One of the worst classes I was forced to take.

Material cut and dry, no nonsense type of teaching. Very unsociable, tests are difficult, ruthlessly grades homework assignments. Seems like kind of a loner, almost feel bad for the guy. Seems like he cares and is otherwise nice, I guess.
