Doesnt spend time talking unnecessary lecture topics. Can be difficult to work with sometimes. Assignments can be long and cause class to run 20+ minutes over time. Do not schedule a class immediately after when his class is supposed to get out, you wont get there on time. Overall an engaging and knowledgeable instructor, clear with expectations.

Dr. Mike does a good job at taking difficult Biology concepts and making them easy to understand for students. He is caring and his review sessions practically spell out the test questions. He is willing to meet outside of class and it feels like he really WANTS you to do well.

Had a horrible bio teacher for 1105 and could never get above a C on a test. Took one test in his class and got an A! I actually feel like him learning during lecture instead of having to teach myself. He's not necessarily "easy" just a really great teacher!

I love Doctor Mike! He is amazing! I am in his 1105 class and I am signed up to be in his 1106 class. I took AP Biology in high school and I did not do near as well as I am doing in bio right now. He is a great professor. 10/10 a total gem.

Dr. Mikes class was pretty good his tests were really difficult but at the review sessions he said what to focus on. His in class assignments were a pain in the ass sometimes but reinforced the material so helped in the long run. Overall it was a pretty easy and enjoyable class.

Dr. Mike is the best teacher I've ever had at Tech. I currently have an A in the class and i'm going to apply to be a TA. His teaching is relevant and concise, and his review sessions pretty much tell you everything you need to know for the tests.

I really enjoyed having Dr. Mike as a professor but struggled a little with the class. His tests apply what you've learned from his lectures to real life and so you really need to know the material before taking a test. Make sure you focus on the activities, powerpoints and iClicker questions in lecture because they will show up on the test!

Dr. Mike is very clear about what you need to know. His review sessions are very helpful as are the outlines he sends. It's a flipped classroom so there aren't lectures anymore, but he reviews in the beginning of each class and that's what you need to know. He can be rude at times, but if you speak up in class and go to him, he can be okay.

Dr. Mike is the best teacher I've had at Tech so far. He clearly outlines what you need to know for tests and his review sessions are extra credit and super helpful so it's an easy boost to your grade. Go to class and study a lot for tests and you'll be golden.

He makes himself widely available to answer questions and hosts review sessions before exams. On the down side, his exams are fairly difficult. They are worded strangely and will cause much self doubt even if you feel confident in your knowledge of the content. One of the more difficult professors for this class.

You will not find a more caring professor than Dr. Mike. He makes himself available almost all the time. So many office hours as well as online office hours and weekly help sessions. The class is definitely not easy but I found the tests doable as long as I did the online study guides thoroughly and went to the test review sessions.

Although Dr. Mike's lectures are kind of boring rushed, he's pretty clear on what the class has to know. He posts study guides before each exam and tells you exactly what you need to know. Lectures cover main points on the test. If you need more information then he will tell you to look in the book or watch videos. Review sessions are helpful!

He's really boring, put me to sleep a lot. I really only went to class for the random attendance quizzes. His powerpoints are very scattered. He words his exams really weird...but I was able to get a 75 & up on all of them by reading the book.

Dr. Mike is OK, I guess. His tests are easier than Simmons, and homework is a big % of grade, but the concept maps are very vague and take way longer to do than they should. Also, he teaches almost nothing in class compared to Simmons, forcing you to read the book a lot when studying. He's also pretty arrogant, and his review sessions are WORTHLESS

Dr.Mike is a good guy that cares about his students. That being said, his class is challenging because his lectures have very little to do with his test material. I had to rely solely on the textbook to complete the homework and study for his extremely hard tests. If you don't mind reading the book, you can sleep or Facebook through every class.

Mike is a really cool guy. His lectures are really just supplements to the book. I ebayed, facebooked, and stumbled through the somewhat monotonous lectures, and showed up solely because attendance is a minor portion of the grade. Read the book, study it before tests, and this class is a no-brainer.
