He's fantastic! Knowledgeable, and brilliant. Grading is NOT random or unfair--he is extremely clear about criteria and has a rubric for every paper. He cares a lot about students' education and ideas, which is so great. Do all your work and engage yourself in class and you will get a good grade; slack off and you won't do well. It's not hard.

Dr. Horne is passionate, brilliant, and committed to his students. He uses a Socratic/Discussion model for classes which is really engaging. One thing that can't be said of him is that he's an easy grader, but he's always willing to help you if you put in the work.

Dr. Horne is a great professor who challenges his students to be the best they can be. I was not crazy about taking The Responsible Self, but I worked hard and got the grade I wanted. I also learned more about myself and others as a result of taking this class.

Dr. Horne is such a wonderful professor. His class has been my favorite by far this semester, and it will definitely be on my Top 5 of my Jewell career! I would take it again in a heartbeat, and I highly recommend it to other Jewell students. Make sure you prepare for every class, though! He'll call on you regardless.

It has been a few years since I graduated but how he taught in class has stuck with me. What I remember most is that he is as passionate about the subject matter as he is about teaching students to view the world with an open and critical mind. You only gave me a B but I'll give you an A+.

Incredibly hard to please,but incredible knowledgeable and an incredible person. Met with our class on dead day when we didn't get to have a review for the final. He even bought lunch for those of us who couldn't afford it.
