With many titles under his name, Professor Bui proves to be a valuable individual when it comes to learning new material. He provides you with a healthy and a bit comedic environment within the classroom. Summa-Cum-Laude had been awarded to him in 1995 at UCLA. Magna-Cum-Laude as well in 1999 at UCI. These are hard awards to earn. I recommend him!

Professor Bui is a great professor. I would recommend taking his class as long as you come to class every day and take good notes. He does go over the material really fast but if you ask him questions he will definitely try to help you out. All homework and quizzes are turned in through MyMathLab.

Professor Bui is not hard! Do your work just as expected in every class and youll be fine. This was my first semester using Aleks and it was a little weird for me but its really helpful when you get used to it. I personally felt the amount of hw and quizzes he gave was a fair amount considering all the material you have to know. He also gives EC!

Professor Bui is a great professor! Not only can he teach well, but he wants everyone in his class to pass with a good grade. All the tests are multiple choice which makes them way easier. Textbooks are not required but you need an access code for the online homework. Overall, 10/10 would take again.

I love Professor Bui! He is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He'll help you out and clarify if you have any questions, so don't be afraid to ask. He sometimes loses track of time because he's so engaged. Yes, you do have to show up. Math is hard to understand without lecture. Overall, he's amazing! I wish I could take him again.

All homework is online and can be repeated as many times as needed. Most of your grade is tests and finals, all multiple choice scantron. This makes it even easier because plugging options into equations is often quicker than solving the problem. Lecture time is just going over examples. Do not take if you need extra attention to get math.

Professor Bui truly has great intentions for his students; however, his teaching style made it difficult for me to grasp the concepts. Bui doesn't really give lecture notes, he mainly goes over the online homework and uses those examples as "class notes." If you struggle with math like I do, another professor with a better teaching style is best.

Hes really nice, but the way he teaches can get really confusing and he does tend to get side tracked a lot. There is a lot of homework you must complete online with in a certain time frame so prepare to put many hours into doing the homework.

Hilarious guy, the class uses Pearson mymathlab which gives soo much homework. The tests were only 20 questions and multiple choice which made it hard to get an A plus no partial credit. He does give 30 extra credit points added to the final which helps your grade quite a bit. Don't take this class if you don't plan on putting in the work.

All homework and quizzes are completed through PearsonMyMathLab. I found the site frustrating, confusing, rigid, slow, and unforgiving. I liked the professor personally, but if I had a choice I would never take another math course that uses the online lab again, regardless of professor. Tests were multiple choice too, which means no partial credit.

He's a funny guy! For the lessons, he always uses homework examples. I thought that this class would be super hard, but it's honestly the easiest A if you really study. He's always asking the class if they have any questions or need any clarifications. I really recommend taking this guy for any math class! See you in Calc!

Professor Bui was awesome! Took Math 40 for the summer session and it was definetly a challenge but learned alot and as long as you do all the homework, even though it is alot, you will do great in the class and on the tests. 4 tests and 1 final. Gives 30 pt. extra credit at the end that boosts grade around 6 percent. He is a must take!

He is a really good person, but as a professor he just wasnt the one for me. His class is tough. There is way too much online homework. his test are hard and his accent is tough to understand at times. sometimes he would even forget what he was doing on the white board. I would recommend to sit in the front.

lectures are directly from the book. He uses the whiteboard during lectures. He is easy to understand most of the time even though he does have a bit of an accent. The online homework is not hard but there is a lot of it. Does provide extra credit if you take the exam/chapter review. Overall, GREAT PROFESSOR, RECOMMEND.

I took Math 040 and honestly I did not understand anything. The most confusing part was mymathlab because he would teach a different way compared to math lab. You have to pass all his test in order to pass as well as do your math lab homework; which is a ton of homework problems. I would take him again because he is very helpful.

Comment:

While his lectures might not be crystal clear, he's always willing to offer additional help. Never gave that much HW which could be good or bad depending on how you study. He only goes over the problems he assigned but visit his office hours and he will explain anything. Tests weren't that difficult as much of it was similar to HW.
