Comment:
Hagigi's class is like something out of an abstract-movie; he broaches topics in class that extend far beyond the AC221 curriculum, and focuses on these abstract concepts during exams--which are not scaled. If you're willing to work like a horse, this is the professor for you; if not, steer clear.

Comment:
Hagigi is a very nice and knowledgeable but may be hard to adjust to in the beginning. He uses discussion and examples instead of ppts. Midterms are easy: do the practice examples and go over lecture notes. Final is more challenging but if you go over your notes and google anything you don't understand, you'll do fine.

I learned so much from professor Hagigi. He challenges us and usually does not give the answer directly but leads us to the answer through his questions. This way we understand better. He is teaching at a high level and for some it is difficult. Take him only if you really want to learn!

I am mid-semester in his class and have an A. I am very confused as to why his rating is so high. I have self-studied to get where I am at the moment, and owe absolutely none of my understanding of this class to him. Professor Hagigi is nice, yes, but he answers questions with other questions and never gives straightforward answers. NOT recommended

For the love of god please don't take this course. Hagigi is not the worst professor in the world, but the entire experience of his class is bewildering. You will feel like you're on another planet for an hour and fifteen minutes. He asks rhetorical questions that are just impossible to interpret. I am at a loss as to why his score is so high.

His written class note is very important because he has no slides. He makes his own exams and all based on his class notes. He is smart but supposed you knew everything. But he is nice and explain the concepts clearly. You can find TA if you are confused with some materials.

Never had a professor who talked as softly as hagigi. In order to actually hear him you have to be in the front row. That being said, he's not a bad lecturer and will take the time to help you outside of class.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. He is the worst teacher I've ever had. To be blunt, he is horrible; i'm speechless that these ratings have wrongfully enhanced his lackluster and unintelligent teaching style. I knew absolutely nothing for the final - nothing - and I got a B in the class - meaning knowing nothing was average.

He was a great teacher. I thought I'd hate accounting but I loved the class because of him. 10/10 recommend him to anyone. I do wish he was more flexible to meet outside class hours though.

The name Financial Accounting sounds quite math heavy, but I quickly learned that this class revolves around logic. Hagigi is a very strong lecturer, with an awesome sense of humor. He highly values participation, so make sure to make an effort in class. If you read briefly for class, participate frequently, and do well on the final, its A season

Professor Hagigi is one of best professor I have had at Boston University. He is a genuine person and cares for his students. His lectures keep you attentive and make for an easy understanding of the material. He is available for office hours every week and even accommodates students with time conflicts. Take his class, you won't regret it!!

Hagigi is an excellent teacher that is always there to help you when you have questions. Be sure to go to office hours with specific questions since he does a great job answering them. Unlike a lot of teachers that just want you to memorize the material, Hagigi genuinely wants his students to truly understand the material. I would take him again

one of the most genuine people I have met at Boston University. He truly cares about his students and wants you to do well. If you show you want to do succeed, he will help you. the class does not have any outside work, so it is heavily exam based. However, the exams are fair and everything that we go over in class. Highly recommend taking hagigi

I have learned so much in his classes. He motivated us to think and to understand rather than to just memorized. It was hard at the beginning but once I got used to his system it was enjoyable. He is very intelligent and helpful to those who really want to learn. I like him and appreciate him a lot.

Easily one of the best professors. I did not like Hagigi at first because he cold calls on everyone but he places a huge emphasis on understanding the material and not memorizing. Tests are very fair; if you do the homework and pay attention in class you will do well. Participation is very important to him. Only need the book for summer work.

Hagigi is a very traditional and kind professor. He speaks very softly, so be sure to sit in the front of the classroom. His exams are basically the class worksheets and example problems. Attend his office hours and he will explain the concepts very clearly and effectively. He wants you to learn and succeed rather than memorize and pass.

Hagigi is clearly my best professor at BU. I came to his office hours some times on Fridays and also sometimes after classes and he explained me very patiently and clearly everything. He is a very nice person but he is not right for lazy people.

This is the worst professor I ever had. I don't understand how any student likes him. He doesn't care about the course it seems as if he's just showing up. Terrible organization skills, only has one office hour! I literally had to teach the course to myself do yourself a favor and don't take his course.
