Prof. Maxwell was the very best professor I had at McGill! I took every one of his courses because I enjoyed him so much. He's exceptionally intelligent, has a keen passion for his subject, and takes a demonstrable interest in his students. It's a cliche, but he makes learning fun.

Be prepared, he can get off topic but no one loves his students more. He has been teaching 5 years without pay because he just loves to do it. If you want a master of everything British, he is your man, nay he is THE man.

I had Maxwell ten years ago. I'm amazed he's still alive. For every minute of actual lecturing he'd give you another minute of 'ermmmmm. ahhhhhhh. emmmmmmm. Yes. ermmmmmmmm.'

Really interesting prof, relatively easy exams, but marks papers REALLY hard! The class covers an insane amount of material, so don't take it if you're looking for an easy elective. Still, Maxwell rocks!

He reminded me, mmph, of a drier, smarter John Cleese. The wacky, mmph, hair complimented the zany (for a Brit) personality. The course was easy, but, mmph, the papers were marked harshly. He was pretty witty/entertaining too
