He is the worst teacher ever. He tells you to work problems in the book to practice for the test but the test are nothing like those problems. He gives you an hour to do 5-6 statics problems which is impossible. Don't expect to finish. Chegg all the homework and class is pointless excpet for pop quizzes. This guy is AWFUL!

You guys who thought he was hard need to quit engineering and maybe even college as well. There was nothing remotely challenging about his class. his tests were incredibly fair, if you can do the HW you can do the tests. Lab and HW are a free 100 for 30% of the grade. what else do you want from a MECH class?

This class is a review of Physics I. If you did well in Phys, you won't have a problem. Class is incredibly boring. The only reason to go is to turn in homework and find out homework assignments. If you have friends taking this class, share 1 set of books. You only need it for hmwrk. Lab is pretty useless. It usually consists of doing hmwrk

DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER IF AT ALL POSSIBLE! Basically writes solutions on board, and doesn't explain much. Writes really small, and you can't understand him. None of the homework problems are on the tests. Not really even similar problems. Don't study homework for tests, waste of time. Not helpful at all.

If you are going to take him, you will need cramster. However, I would try to avoid Thakur if possible. His tests are ridiculous, and he is not a very good teacher, or helpful.

A HORRIBLE teacher. Teaches straight from the book and his test are outrageous. He gives out weekly homework which is taken up and graded for accuracy. Test are impossible and he is not willing to help at all... Stay away from all his classes if possible!

Would be an ok class if his tests were better. Gives only 3 tests and weekly HW. First test had 3 problems, 2nd test had 4 and the final had 6. On each test there was a problem that wasn't ever gone over in the homework.

A horrible horrible teacher. Examples are straight from the book and his test are outrageous. Went many times for help and would teach myself the homework but come test time NOTHING like the homework was on there. Avoid if at all possible.

all i can say is wow. how can you get a teaching job when you teach like him. all he does is copy the examples from the book. and i swear i did the homework and i had never seen a single problem before that was on the tests... he is a terrible teacher..

I had him for statics/dynamics. He was without a doubt the worst professor I have ever had in my 5 years of college. I would not recommend anyone take this professor for S/D. His method of teaching is working example problems right out of the book. If you him for S/D you can expect your future classes to be much harder than they have to be!

Dr. Thakur's sensors class is a joke! Do not take it. It is extremely hard and you learn nothing useful. If you take it get ready for some hard core physics(i.e. light wave propogation, optics, piezoresitivity, piezoelectric, etc.).

The worst professor I have had while at Auburn. Rights very small, doesn't explain things at all and his examples are str8 out of the book. His test were to long for the material that was in them, and gave 45 min. for the final which was twice as long as the normal tests(1:15 min.) Also he is not helpful during class, after class.
