Comment:

This technical elective was very difficult and boring. Dr Tippur should only be teaching grad students, as his lectures were impossible to follow expcept by someone with extensive experience in this field. The lectures were bad and he would go over time regularly and think nothing of talking for 15+ min over time. I would not take again.

By far one of the best teachers I have had. Extremely helpful outside of class. Always willing to spend time with students. Definitely not that easy, though.

Excellent teacher. Exams are tough because there are only 3 questions. You can get by without the textbook as he posts the solutions and questions online. Get old quizzes and exams to study.

A pretty good teacher. As previously stated he worked many examples. The exams are very similar to homework assignments. Only complaint is his grading. Be sure to show all work. Seen several students with correct answers, yet receive a 60% on the problem because shown work was dissorganized or unclear.

i suppose since i do solid mechanics testing for a co-op job this class was made easier. still don't think it would have been that difficult. the test questions make you put together a lot of concepts to solve the problem. do the HW as much as you think you need to. just go to class - his notes cover everything he wants you to know. labs suck.

Good teacher. Keep up with homework and show up most of the time and you'll do fine. For tests study end of chapt. problems like HW and you'll Ace the test. Quizzes are a little tough. Not as hard as Lall, not as loony as Mishra.

If you do the homework and pay attention in class you do fine. Most of his test questions come straight from homework. You never know what your grade is in the class. I made above B average on everything and ended up with an A. Stay above average!

I found him to be a very good teacher. As long as you pay attention in class, the material seems to come pretty easy. He explains very well, unlike some of the other teachers of the course.
