Dr. Krantz is a really nice and understanding guy, but I found his class to be very difficult to take. He can be very arrogant at times and spews out a lot of "facts" that are blatantly obvious. Because attendance isn't mandatory, I found it difficult to go to class when I felt like I wasn't learning much.

Krantz's class is all lecture based with a few videos. I usually love this subject matter but him as a person made me strongly dislike this class. I would attend every class and even saw him for extra help and listened to everything he told me to do in order to do better and I did not. Instead of going to class, read the book during that time.

Read the text! Only 3 exams and those are the only grades you'll be given. He wrote his own textbook so he knows the information inside and out. Very caring and smart professor who knows what he's talking about. Would take again!

The easiest way to succeed in this class is to read the textbook cover to cover and then pick out obscure details. I realized after the first exam that since he writes the textbook, nitpicky details seem like a reasonable question to ask. Going to lectures will give you visuals & funny stories that can help put some of the more specific concepts.

Take him for Child Development to acclimate to his teaching style to make this class (Child Guidance) easier to understand.

IMO, best professor I've had at FSU. I know many students who don't like him, but I feel much more confident working with children after taking this class. Study hard for the three tests, and you'll be fine. You'd probably be fine by just reading the textbook, but if you actually want to learn, you can learn so much about kids from his lectures.

Dr. Krantz really tries to make his class interesting by saying things about his personal life, but how the class itself is structured is horrible. There are 3 exams and each one has 50-60 questions. If you do badly on one of them, your whole grade is at stake. His whole class is opinion based and he even wrote his own textbook, which I do not like

This class was relatively easy if you read his online textbook, but the professor was totally unprofessional and full of himself. He spent half of class talking about how he was the smartest person in every room.

Dr. Krantz is amazing! Attendance isn't mandatory and the only grades are three really easy exams. The lectures are engaging and interesting but if you miss you can catch up by reading the textbook, which is online and super easy to understand. He's very approachable and wants to help! If you've been around kids this class is especially easy.

Attendance isn't mandatory but he tests on concepts that were only discussed in class and not in the etext (even though he wrote it himself). He also doesn't use powerpoints or even outlines for his lectures, he just drones on and on. But he's very good at explaining and providing real examples. Sometimes his validity is questionable.

Nice professor, boring but sometimes good lectures. Also, the grade in the class is based on 3 exams and no extra credit. You do have to read a lot and the Etext in my opinion is boring and extremely long. Exams are multiple question, 50 questions. Easy if u read and study from the Etext

Hes a great lecturer! The only thing is, the grade in the class is based on 3 exams. As long as you come to class and read the etext youll get an A on the exams. Also, during lecture, there is no powerpoint or anything so you just have to listen.

One of the best professors I've had. Definitely a difficult class due to how much information has to be remembered but all his lectures are interesting so it makes it easy to follow. He adds humor to what he's talking about so it's not all boring. Reading the textbook is key to doing well on the exams.

This professor is inappropriate, and terrible. He makes weird and pervy jokes and he even said that he followed one of his old students to a bathroom and waited outside for 20 minutes for her. He is uncomfortable and rude. He wrote his own textbook, which is based off of his opinions and is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors. Horrible.

Be ready to read. A lot of question content comes from an online text book that he wrote himself. His lectures included some information that will be on the exams but there is a lot more info in the lectures that is not on the exams. The way he worded the questions on the exams were very confusing making them very hard. Only 3 grades are exams.

I've never been great at studying and I'd consider myself an average student. This class is difficult but Kranz is an extremely caring and inspirational guy. He noticed my improvements and took them into account. He is also very understanding. My advice is if you have him reach out to him for help.

Only 3 exams and no extra credit given. He just stands there and lectures the whole class with no power points or anything so it's super boring. They're almost word for word from the e-text (he wrote it) so attendance is not mandatory, exams are hard even when you attend class. I usually enjoy this subject matter but I genuinely hated this class.

Lecture heavy. I wish he used powerpoints, mostly because it helps keep me on track, but his lectures were still pretty interesting. The only grades are three exams. Make sure you read the etext and understand the application of the principles, not just definitions. It was a pretty good class and I enjoyed his class.

Krantz is a good professor, I just don't like the organization of the class. The class is fully lectures by him and is only graded by 3 tests and he just tells you what chapters to read out of his etext. Its difficult to try to study. Krantz does know what he is talking about but he often rambles off to talk about himself. Okay class overall.
