Myler is a great prof, and an interesting person. He definitely helped me develop as a writer, but getting more than 90% on a paper can be really tough! I have mixed feelings about the reading materials as well. Some of the books were awesome, while others were quite boring. He really emphasizes class discussion, which is great.

I respect Myler's teaching style - to each their own. However, I found his belief that other (published and well-educated writer's) opinions are incorrect or do not count when he disagree's with them. He does not mark fairly if you disagree with his opinions, despite multitudes of evidence to suppor

I really enjoyed Myler's class; however, he's not always clear about what exams/papers are on. Just make sure you keep asking! Lots of philosophy mixed up in english (sometimes good, sometimes bad) is very clear on style for essays.
