Lahutsky's 8am was a pain. She's kinda cool, as she let me take a ton of quizzes when I skipped class. She will let you take them whenever you want. Her tests are literally impossible. She treats the class like its a 5000 when its a 1000. Get ready to memorize not only everything she said in class, but the entire textbook too.

She makes the class extremely tough. Even if you spend hours upon hours studying, getting an A is almost impossible. Most of the class elected pass/fail. With all that being said, she is a genuinely nice person who is passionate about what she does.

Everyone thought her class was challenging but I did not put a lot of effort into the class and still got an A. You have to read for the quizzes, but as long as you do they're really easy especially since they're group quizzes. The first test is definitely a challenge but after that it gets easier.

everyone thinks she is such a hard teacher but honestly i ended up with like a 102. she is very clear and gives you the exact things you need to know on tests you just need to show up to class, take notes, and then memorize it. she's very fair and gives extra credit and rounds grades

Dr. Lahutsky is a great woman. Her class can be challenging, especially at first, but if you participate during class, take notes, and follow reading assignments, you will do fine. Dr. Lahutsky cares for all of her students, and it is obvious she loves the subject she teaches. I would definitely recommend taking a class of hers.

The class itself was interesting to me, but too much is expected for each test, especially the final (cumulative). You have to read 60-80 long pages for the weekly quizzes that are only 8-10 questions (make sure you know how to spell all the foreign terms and what they translate to). The papers aren't bad, but she's a tough grader. Best of luck!

Terrible teaching style. She dances around the main, important points that we would need to know for tests and quizzes, and insteads asks the class a ton of questions. I felt like the kids were teaching the class half the time and they were often confused. She also spits on the first row if you sit there and has terrible breath so sit far away.

Once you get past how strange she comes off, this class is really easy. One of my highest grades. Just study really well for the tests and you will be fine. Before a test, GO AND MEET WITH HER! She offers times to do so and will walk you through the study guide and give very helpful tips for the exam

Her lectures were scattered. We spent the first half of the semester trying to define religion - which you can't and then she sped through the five major religions. The final was cumulative and confusing. Her tests are really hard. I usually get A's in all my classes, she was my only B. DO NOT TAKE AT 8 AM. HER VOICE IS ANNOYING.

This class is hard the first 6 weeks of school because it is mostly theory and lots of terms you've never heard of. But, check eCollege frequently. She likes to hide extra credit there. She also will give you 2 extra points on the final grade for attendence and participation. Talk alot! Be nice to her and do the readings and you will be fine

Doesn't actually care about her students. She picks favorites. When she gives feedback it isn't helpful, it's really CONDESCENDING. Not helpful AT ALL. Lectures have NO ORDER and you basically learn NOTHING from them, you only learn from what you read outside of class. Tests are difficult and graded ridiculously hard. DON'T TAKE if you dont need to

Definitely not a walk in the park religion class, but Dr. Lahutsky is enthusiastic about the subject. Lots of reading and other work, but it's not a horrendous class by any means.

Hard hard hard class (World Religion) I worked incredibly hard and got an A. Her tests are not easy, but they are manageable. The rest of the reviews like to paint her as a death sentence, but keep up with the course load, pay attention to the lectures, and get on good terms with her and you will do just fine.

I would not reccomend taking this class as a freshman or with a full class load. The lectures are confusing. You MUST read about 2 chapters a week. Weekly quizes. Attendence is taken and does affect grade. VERY HARD TESTS. Class participation not only encouraged but required. Tough learning environment. Still made an A-, but worked my butt off...

I almost dropped this class in the beginning of the semester because of how difficult it was. Now I'm glad I didn't. Lahutsky's religion class has turned out to be my favorite course I've taken at TCU. It has challenged me, encouraged me, and helped me grow. She's a great professor and certainly knows what she is doing. Always available to help!

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. You spend the first 6 weeks of class going over the definition of religion, and then never come up with an actual definition. The rest of the semester she speeds through some of the major world religions. Her "lectures" are really just her asking everyone confusing questions. She also has a million annoying idiosyncrasies

Her class is awful. In discussions she goes everywhere and her study guides make the tests HARDER to study for, rather than easier. She has no direction in class discussion or in her study guides, and for tests expects you to know as much as she does (which is never clear) I do NOT recommend, esp for an 8am

Horrible class! I was really pumped about this religions class and now its my least favorite class. Her voice is annoying, you spend the first 8 weeks talking about theory and useless things, and her tests are tough. All essay, short answer, fill in the blank, etc. My pre-med biology class is easier. If you take religions, DONT take her.
