Comment:

Nancy is super sweet and definitely cares about her students. However, this class has sooo much busy work and supplemental reading, especially for a 200 level course. Okay if you are a freshman with more free time, but If you have other upper-level classes you will never have time to get through all her busy work.

Nancy is the toughest grader I've had yet. I've never gotten below a B on any essay until this class. You'll have one paper due every class period with a shat ton of reading. Plus your field placement. The workload for her class is worth way more than only 4 credits. Most frustrating class I've taken.

Dr. Lavigne is a nice woman and she'll make sure that you learn a lot. However, the workload for this class is absurd. This class will literally consume all of your time so make sure you account for that when registering for classes. She's a tough grader and will definitely make you work to get a good grade.

Let me just say this, you're gonna write, and write, and write, and write, and this class will slowly take over all of your free time and engulf your content classes. Don't get me wrong Levign is a nice woman, but she maybe cares just a teeny bit to much.

Lavigne is a good teacher, but the class is just plain pointless. You go to a after school program to mentor kids but other then that the class isn't fun. She gives a lot of pre-class readings but i honestly didn't do a single one. I probably would have gotten a better grade if i did but oh-well. I would recommend Dr. Pemberton instead if possible.

She is knowledgeable, nice , dedicated. BUT- LOTS of worksheets & busy work, like 3rd grade- and instructions for projects average 7 pages. doing well, but don't feel like really learning b'cause scrambling to keep on top of busy work

This class was a LOT of work. Her expectations for papers are very high. You definitely have to work hard for an A. Assignment due for every single class but she doesn't grade all of them; she randomly selects which to grade. Although she expects a lot from her students, she is very kind and helpful. She goes the extra mile to help you out.

Lavigne is a good professor her class isn't too bad a little boring. No exams just papers and lesson plans. Has prep assignments that are 2-3 pages long about the reading but only collects half of them which is very frustrating. Hard grader on written work.

Very nice & helpful. Class is kinda boring but it's not her fault...A LOT of group projects but you have plenty of class time to do them. She wants her students to do well and wants you to learn, unfortunately a lot of class seemed repetitive & felt like we had a lot of busy work. I would take this class again though.

She's really nice. Thankfully there was a lot of group work so the class went a lot faster, but there seemed to be a lot of busy work in class and out class assignments, pretty pointless. She hovers during group work which is annoying, but she's lines out exactly what to include in each assignment and grades easy!

She is a very nice and helpful teacher. She wants you to grow up to be a great teacher! She gives a lot of feedback on assignments. However the class itself was pretty bad and I didn't learn nearly as much as I would have liked to.

Lectures were usually pretty dry, but Dr. Lavigne is extremely nice and always willing to help however she can. Our final essay was much more involved than it had to be, but overall I didn't mind my experience with this class.

I loved this class. She does make lectures somewhat complicated, but she posts a LOT online. There are a lot of supplemental readings, but you can get by without them except you should use them for the online quizzes. Make sure you do well on the projects because they're worth as much as tests. Overall, not much homework and field placement is fun!

nice lady but puts way too much emphasis on webct, makes assignments seem really complicated bc she overprepares you for them. no more cheat sheets allowed but the tests are easy to bs and not a lot of studying is necessary. go to class and speak up. textbook is more expensive than it is useful.
