Comment:

Definitely the best professor I have ever had at Grand Valley. Yes, she is a somewhat tough grader, but her expectations are very reasonable and she will go above and beyond to help you succeed in her class. She is so genuine and sweet, and truly cares about her students.

Comment:

She is very knowledgeable in her courses, but she is very specific, even when you don't need to be. When we say things, they have to be said perfectly, otherwise she will tell us we are wrong. Personally, I did not liked the way that she talked very slow and had a high pitched voice. It would drive me crazy. She knows her stuff, but isnt the best.

Good professor. She's very understanding if you communicate and are putting clear effort into class. Not an easy A, but it's possible. You have to try in this class, as you should any college course. She's a tough grader but if you know your material you will do just fine. She doesn't use blackboard but she does give progress reports throughout.

Dr. Mack is crazy!! She is a really hard grader when it comes to quizzes and exams. If you have the option to take this class with any other professor, I recommend it!

She expects great work from her students which is lacking in college. Most students want things handed to them. Take her if you want a challenge led by a great professor. Only people who are unwilling to put in effort will say this class is "impossible". She is always willing to help and she's super sweet :) good luck guys!!

Dr. Mack was a great professor. She will help you whenever you need it. She expects great quality work, which should be expected considering we barely had to do anything in the class. She gave us multiple extra credit opportunities and a lot of feedback. Know that you have to try in this class it's not an easy A but very doable.

NEVER TAKE HER... EVER! She is evil! She does not help at all. She does not make time for her students. With homework, quizzes, and projects, she will tell you how to do it one way but grade completely different. She has made me cry on several occasions. She is very unorganized and an absolutely terrible teacher.

Nancy Mack knows how to teach but when it comes to handing in exams or homework, you don't know what to expect when it comes to your grade. I attended every class, participated, handed in all of the work, and asked for help many times and I still have to retake the class. There was even a time when my group got screamed at for talking. Do not take!

I would avoid her if possible. You aren't allowed to have any absences or late work and she's a tough grader. The syllabus says one thing and she'll say something to contradict it. At times she was very rude to students during class time. Good luck knowing what your grade is, she doesn't use black board. DO NOT TAKE HER.

Don't take her. She gives you rubrics for assignments & then doesn't follow through. It's impossible to get a good grade on assignments because she's everywhere with what she wants. She treats you like a child & is rude. There have been multiple occasions where students have been in tears. She also doesn't put grades in AT all during the semester.

Very rude professor. She doesn't give clear instructions of what she wants. She will insult students during class. Tell you are wrong even when you are right. She harasses certain students. She treats you like you 5 and them says children won't solve a problem a certain way even if she used it as an example. Would not recommend stay clear of her.

This class was great to refresh your math skills. However, it was very frustrating because there were all levels of math students in it. Buy the book we used it for homework sometimes. She was very nice and there are no tests in this class which is great. I didn't like how slow paced this class was it was so frustrating. Very easy A if you show up.

Nancy Mack was a great teacher! She would get annoyed when students would talk in class and go off topic in groups but if you truly care about teaching math to children you will benefit from her as your teacher. Gives good feedback on lesson plans and can be strict in grading. Just pay attention.

Mrs. Mack is a very kind teacher and you can really tell that she cares about her students and teaching. My only complaint is that it is sometimes hard to tell what exactly she expects on tests and assignments. She looks for pretty specific answers and so her grading tends to be hard.

Nancy Mack is very deceiving. While she will at first seem like a very kind teacher, she is unclear of what she wants, and refuses to clarify what she is looking for. You will have to work for hours on assignments that are worth very little points, and does not help you learn anything that could help you in real life. Run.

Professor Mack treats her students like they're six year old children. It can get very frustrating and annoying. She helps you understand but makes you feel pretty stupid sometimes with all the elementary school work.
