I actually really loved this class. This was one of my favorites that I took while I was at NMU. She is very interest & passionate about what she does and I think that made the class even more enjoyable. She is very caring of all her students and wants to make sure that she helps them succeed. I would definitely recommend taking one of her courses!

Comment:

Dr. Redfern is one of the sweetest, most helpful teachers I have ever met. She really focuses on your strengths while helping you along in your weaknesses, so you find yourself improving in leaps and bounds without ever feeling discouraged. You have to practice, of course, but I found myself very motivated cause I didn't want to disappoint her.

Out of my four years at NMU, Nancy Redfern was by far my favorite professor. You can tell that she genuinely loves what she teaches and it made me even more interested in learning about music. I loved coming to class each day because she always puts a smile on everyone's faces. I highly recommend her as a professor.

Nancy is so friendly and happy! She loves what she teaches and tries to make class fun. Come to class, fill in the sheet she gives you, you'll ace every test. Tests are open book, open notes, ask a neighbor, use your book, use your computer. Impossible to fail!! EASY A!

So easy. As long as you attend class, you should get an A. Everyday you have a "quiz" where she tells you the answers, and every monday you have a "test" where you can eventually use your textbook, notes, and your neighbor.i hardly ever used my textbook. she makes it easy for everyone to pass.

Nancy is a really nice teacher and will help you out if you need it. She understands that everyone taking this class is not a music major. Her class was really easy but you did have to show up to get the points. The only reason anyone would do bad in this class is if they skipped all the time. NO EXAMS! :)

She is such a kind, sweet person who genuinely cares about her students. I took private lessons with her once a week and she was not only helpful, but she was very relateable, personable, and ALWAYS happy and smiling. I hope I can continue to take lessons with her one more time before I graduate!

Nancy was fantastic. I was terrified to take this class since I'm tone deaf. She not only made it fun, but I learned a lot. One of the best profs I've ever had. I had over 100% in the end and didn't have to take the final. Show up and you'll get an A.

Nancy is the most easy and laid back teacher here at NMU i have ever had! if you do not go to class you only miss a daily quiz which is usually worth 10 points, give or take. she gives your your quizes at the beginning of class sometimes and will give you the answers herself. its a very easy class, and the answers are always right in front of you

Excellent teacher and completely understandable. I had a very VERY rough semester and she was extremely kind and forgiving in catching up, even let me take the final 2 weeks early so that I could work on all of my other work. Best teacher ever, wonderful woman, and she LOVES cookies!

Oh Nancy... She is so energetic and talented. The class is sooo easy, but I still learned a lot from going to class even though you really don't have to that often. Take-home quizzes and listening tests mostly. There are also group classes so you don't go to class 14 times.

This class was really easy! Dr. Redfern was so nice and was really interested in music and the class. The labs were actually fun and all you had to do was show up to get the points. The tests are so easy and she goes over everything in class. We spent most of the time watching movies and listening to music. Definitely an awesome teacher.
