Do not take this class with this Professor. Unprofessional, rude, and treats students like a number. The self defense moves are wimpy at best. You are better off taking a Krav Maga class. Also, very much an "in and out" prof, meaning, do not bother her outside of class. You need a reference? Don't bother. Should have retired 30 years ago.

Fabulous! An organized, clear, and helpful prof, who did a great job integrating faith in the classroom without it feeling forced. Lectures were relevant, applicable, and to the point. Even if you are really uncoordinated and out of shape you can get an A if you try hard.

This class is amazing. By far the best class at Calvin (for women). Professor is very clear, fun, helpful, and understanding. Definately would suggest taking this class.

Comment:

This class every girl should take! Not only do you learn some physical self-defense moves, but you learn tons about what to do if you or someone you know is attacked, harassed, etc. And you learn important stuff about date****drugs, etc. Also the prof is a wonderful, caring woman (who could kill you in about 2 seconds with her amazing skills).
