Dra. Bermudez is very unorganized. takes criticism very personally and occasionally just does not show up to class without explination or apology. she is nice but thats about it.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. spanish was always my best mark until i had dra. bermudez. she is a super tough grader and does NOT give clear grading criterea. i've gone to her office hours and i study for hours, but can still barely pass. i'll probably end up dropping the class, unfortunately.

I had the privilege of having Dra. Bermudez for two semesters and she's wonderful. A little heavy on the homework though, and kind of tough with "forgetting your accents". She's very friendly and very approachable.

She is a horrible teacher!. She expects a lot form everyone. She is disrespectful. Even though you included everything she asks in your papers, she will still have something negative to say. She even wrote down examples of ''what not to do'', from essays of students in our class. Most of people in my class will be dropping the course. :(

A matronly teacher. She is so enthusiastic about Spanish. She is old-school, but does her job well. One time she stopped me after class to ask me how things were in my life and to offer encouragement and told me I had lots of potential. I've never had a Uni Prof reach out to me in such a way. I was impressed. She will help you learn Spanish.

Students who are looking to take this class in Winter 2017, DO NOT TAKE IT. She threatened to withhold our entire classes grades so we wouldn't graduate simply because she didn't like us. Pick a different course if you can, and if you can't make sure you suck up to her early on because she determines your grade based on how she likes you!

Extremely rude to her students, she can clearly see that no one is understanding or has any interest and continues to teach her dry and pointless lectures the same way anyways. She grades you based on how she likes you and will single you out in class even if you ask her not to. Participation was not part of final grade but she docks marks anyways.

Nayibe Bermudez is a good professor as long as you show interest in the class, she can sometimes be very quiet but is overall very helpful if questions are asked. I recommend taking her class as long as you plan on attending all lectures.

I used to love spanish before taking her class. I did well no thanks to her. Found classes to be boring and useless. Wasted class time on things that did not prepare us for exams. Hard marker. Found her to be rude and slightly scary. Docks marks if you don't attend class.

I have had this professor for two semesters (SPAN301 and 303.) She has high expectations for students, but it's not impossible to get high grades. Her teaching style is laid-back and relaxed more than dynamic or energetic. If you can't handle this kind of learning environment then choose a different professor if possible.

Good luck getting anything above a B in any of her classes, she's very passionate about the subject but she's just not great at teaching it. Instructions and expectations were always unclear.

AVOID!!! I read the previous comments and ignored them. Although she isn't the worst teacher, don't take spanish with her if you can avoid it. Classes are extremely dull, we don't learn anything and she is unclear about assignments. Loved spanish before her, now I can't wait until its over.

WORST PROF EVER. Her marking is completely subjective to how much she likes you as a person. She is rude beyond all belief, gives no formal marking so the only vague cues you have for what she wants on assignments is the verbal diarrhea she spits out in class. Docks marks if you don't attend her boring, pointless lectures.

Boring class. Not very enthusiastic about teaching. couldn't tell you what i learnt. students comments don't seem to matter to her. a bit rude to students too. unorganized teaching style. very VERY hard marker. not a GPA booster class. only take it if necessary.lots of readings to do and even if you read them you don't understand what shes asking.

BORING. though there wasn't a section for attendance on the breakdown of grades, she lowered paper and test grades if you skipped classes. mumbles a LOT and not interesting. did not teach in a logical order at all. even fluent students didn't know what was going on. had a lot of exta work to do that wasn't worth marks. NO GOOD.

BORING and painful is what I have to say about this prof. She is rude and not very helpful. I took film with her and instead of focusing on film she would just talk about the Mexican Revolution. Everything from her extremely quiet voice to her attitude towards students makes her by far the worst prof I've ever had. Not a fair marker

Terrible prof. Mumbles, writes random notes on the board, no structure. Is rude to students. Started off marking super easy, ended marking VERY hard. All around, B O R I N G course. I thought it would be awesome, but it was by far the worst Spanish class I have ever taken. Oh and be prepared to read 30 page articles before every class.

What was supposed to be my favorite class ended up being my worst. She speaks quietly and mumbles so for non-native speakers it is really difficult to understand. Also, her classes have no sense of real order or organization. She puts words on the board and then talks in circles about them. She provides no info on what to study for the midterm. Malo

Did not like her at all. It seemed that she expected us to be completely fluent in her Colombian dialect even though this was only Beginners' II Standard Spanish. She has a very strange teaching style, ex. throwing tennis balls. I'm a patient guy but I couldn't stand her, I switched out of her class. Try to get a different Spanish prof if you can.

I really really liked her! The thing I loved about her class was her teaching style. She doesn't give notes; she just works straight out of the textbook and she goes in a straight manner. She's easy too! She is a really nice person too! My 201 class bonded in a strange way thanks to her. Not the same in 203 with a different professor.
