Comment:

A smart guy, knows what he's talking about. Outgoing with a sort of corny 80's sense of humor as expected of someone his age. The class itself, compared to other Radford classes is probably among the most difficult ones. If you're smart, you should be able to handle it. You are going to have to see him after class, but he makes himself accessible.

Teaches as if everything is a review instead of something you are just now learning, none of his code on his web site has been compiled. btw the site is where he will be lecturing you from. If you talk to him at his office expect it to be exactly like the lab he going to talk to you as if youv been doing this all your life. Good luck.

Okie isn't a bad guy but good god if you can avoid taking a class with him do it. This class was easily the worst class I've ever taken in college and I've heard many others say the same. Save yourself if you can.

Okie is a really smart guy and one of the best ITEC teachers at Radford. He is tough but he really wants you to learn and apply those concepts in the real world. The class is hard because ADA is super tough to learn and does not give you lee way coding wise and if you are going to take this class and want a good grade, practice some ADA before hand

Dr. Okie is always available to help. I emailed him on the weekends and he got back to me within 12 hours. He's always in his office, and will do whatever he can to help you understand what you should be doing for each program. Ada is difficult, but worth it. This class will make you a better programmer.

Okie seems like a good guy and is passionate about ADA (which is an ancient language) but his lecture-style is terrible. He doesn't use powerpoints or put up any notes, he just scribbles on the board gleaming over the content with the mindset that the stuff he goes over is review to everyone. You have no notes to study just his source code online.

Dr. Okie was awesome. His class was difficult but not undoable, I received an A in the class but definitively had to work for it. He is very helpful if you visit his office but as others have said wont just feed you the answer. If you actually want to learn something I would highly recommend Dr. Okie, he made me a better programmer at least.

Professor Okie is a tough teacher. He will do anything he can to help his students as long as they are trying. I went to his office several times for help on programs and he was always nice and helpful. He tries to lead you to an answer without telling you straight up which makes it easier to learn in the long run. Great teacher

He is a pretty good professor. He is better than any other professor at Radford that teaches 120. I'm pretty sure that he is biased when it comes to grading homework, so try and stay on his good side and go to class as much as possible.

Okie is probably the smartest professor you will have at Radford. His class is interesting, but the projects and tests are extremely hard. granted he will help you if you ask. not an easy A or B or C for that matter but you do learn a lot

Dr. Okie is a great teacher. His class if very tough but he will challenge you to think. There is no attendance policy but if you want to learn you will want to come to his class. Also if you do not come to class it makes the class 100x more difficult! Definately recommend this teacher to anyone that wants to learn. If you want easy A don't take.

Radford is lucky to have him. He's simply brilliant, and has forgotten more about CS than most of us will ever learn. He's tough; no hand-out grades. But you can not help but to learn from him. Beyond that, he's just a really nice guy, and will do his best to help you through anything, relating to his class or not. Can't recommend him too highly!

boring, boring, boring, this guy wouldnt breathe if the school told him not to, he refuses to let you out on time, let alone early, the work is torture at best and i honestly dont think that anyone who cant have a decent argument about whos compiler is better should sign up for this class

Without a doubt the best professor when it comes to programming. If you are looking for a grade handout this is not the professor nor the major for you! If you come to him with a question, he will make sure you understand the problem and help you come to a conclusion. I took quite a bit out of his class.

I was lucky to get him for 120. Provided a great foundation for my major (CS). Finds code errors quickly. Always uses correct terminology. Very helpful during office hrs. Hard to stump w/ Java. Knows what he teaches. Dont expect a good grade unless you attend and work towards earning it.
