Definitely would not take a class with him again. There were six quizzes (no final) which were really hard. With the content being already so dry and difficult, he did not do much to try to make it better.

Very hard class. There were six quizzes (no proper final), all short questions, no multiple choice. The content itself was difficult and he didn't do much to make it enjoyable.

His lectures are very very very easy to fall asleep in. His voice is static and uninteresting. He seems passionate about the topic but has trouble making it interesting and keeping the class engaged.

This professor obviously cares deeply about this topic. He is very informative, so if you like Dev. Psych, you'll enjoy the class. If you aren't very interested in dev psych, you'll be bored listening to the lectures. It is all lecture, then 6 exams. If you do the readings, take notes, you'll do fine. He is a very fair grader on the exams though!!

If I could rate him 0, I would. He drones ON & ON in the most annoying, monotone voice possible. Half the time, he doesn't even know what he's talking about. His lecture slides suck & lack necessary information. He posted the link to the incorrect textbook - making me spend $130 on something I did not need. He's terrible. I struggle to stay awake.

Professor Berthier is very monotonous and his lectures are fairly boring, but the material is very interesting so I would say it is worth it. He also only has six 6-8 question quizzes throughout the semester and no final. I would definitely recommend the class.

Uninspiring teacher with no enthusiasm. The material is interesting but he is extraordinarily boring. I have more fun reading the textbook alone. I do not recommend taking a class with Berthier.

Never went to class but did really well. He also let me make up an exam I missed without much hassle. But I'm freakin pissed about him not uploading final exam grades on time. What the frick. Why can't he just upload on time? Grades are due in an hour and he hasn't uploaded final exam grades. Maybe he just isn't going to bother. Arg I wanna swear

He's a nice enough guy, but his lecturing is very dull. He uses Group projects, which are all too easy to take less than seriously, because they are very unclear. Normally a Straight A psych student - First B I've had in college in this class.

Most monotonous class I have taken. He was uninspiring and the class was less engaging than just staying home and reading the text yourself. Exams consisted of 8 paragraph responses based on textbook material. Horrendous experience-not a recommended psych elective.

If you go to class and ask questions you should do fine. However I doubt you'll want to go to class cause this guy is BORING and makes me sad. He has no enthusiasm whatsoever and seems to hate everything about teaching. Just get through it and do the homework and extra credit, you'll definitely pass.

He is a great 240 professor! It really is an easy A if you just go to class and take notes. He has homework due online that is very easy for each class that is a major grade booster and labs which are automatic 100's if you go. He doesn't believe in memorizing formulas either so you just have to understand the basic concepts. Easy A!

Very interesting class material, terrible prof. No matter if you studied his lecture notes or the text book.. what was on the test was a gamble. The 20 question final, which was only on what we last learned, covered aout 150 pages + his notes.. two questions were number facts listed in ONE sentence of the text...don't take.

Not helpful at all. Horrible at responding back to emails. Participation in extra credit experiments help a lot. His lectures are torture, not coherent lecture style at all. I went to every lecture and read the text along with lecture and still struggled. Very interesting material, take it with another professor!!! In class quizzes are very easy!

absolutely horrible. he is a terrible professor, his exams are impossibly specific. they are based off of single sentences from the book. and i read through the book thoroughly before every exam and still managed to get C's on them. his

lectures were soooo boring and test questions were SO specific. if you pull a c on his exams, do the EC and ace the easy quizzes, you can get a B or B-. 3 exams and a non cumulative final and 6 pop quizzes based on the material from that particular class session, but he drops 2 of them at the end. 12 points of EC available.

Provides review sessions before exams, tendency to snap at students if they interrupt lectures, normal bell curve grade-wise, primarily uses material from lectures. You MUST attend class and you MUST read the book. Take detailed notes, laptop suggested, because not everything is on his slides. He is very clear. Good study habits? Good grade.

He's not that bad! For the amount that people complained about him I thought he'd be horrible but there are just in class quizzes every 3-4 classes that are really easy and add up to a test grade so they're a grade booster and his tests aren't hard if you go to class or do the reading, you don't really have to do both.
