Dr. Stratis is a great person. A lot of people say he gives unclear instructions for tests/projects but he does it so we are forced to study and learn for ourselves. Sometimes it was annoying, but once you get used to it, you realize the class is actually easy. Very little material covered but you have to know it in depth for an 'A'.

To do well in this class you need to understand the interpretations he expects you to get from regression outputs. This means go to class because he doesn't write the interpretations on the notes, he goes over them orally in class. As long as you can interpret data well, you'll do great! He is an amazing professor.

Overall good teacher. I have taken three classes with him and got A's in all three. Drink some coffee because his classes are typically late in the afternoon and his voice is very soothing. He likes class participation so get ready to talk. Attendance is not required but I would recommend it. Book is not really necessary but can help if you skip.

Mr. Stratis is a nice, cool guy and knows a lot about his subject. He is an intense grader. His tests consist of concept questions, and you are expected to write every single detail of that concept after you answer the actual question. I would not recommend this class unless you have great study habits.

Content of the class itself isn't hard but his tests are graded extremely tough. When you go to office hours to ask why you got a question wrong, he basically told me I just put too many details or not to his expectations. This is the epitome of "Strive for As, get Cs." I would not recommend unless you're a microeconomics genius. Smart guy though.

Dr. Stratis is a great guy and means well, but sometimes he almost seemed too smart for us students. He assumed that we knew more than we did, his lectures are pretty dry and there's only a very vague outline simply copy and pasted onto a word document. If you take him, go to his office hours. He'll help you, but you have to meet him halfway.

I never understood how people with ADD must feel all of the time until I took this class. He is VERY boring and will spend the entire class not getting through the first page of his outline. I learned nothing in this class. I got and A in every econ class I've taken except for this one, including intermediate micro, macro and econometrics. No +-

Very nice guy. A shame that he isn't the best teacher. He was very late on updating grades and there was never any sort of grading scale made available. He always just said he used his own. He also didn't respond to his e-mail and often claimed he was too busy to have office hours or answer questions.

Dr. Stratis can be hair-brained at times, but he really cares about his students. His problem sets are usually super easy, and his exams are generally not that hard if you don't mind extended response. You have to be able to explain what the term means, NOT ITS DEFINITION. All in all good instructor, I also had him for ECO 3104.

Economics of Environment and Natural Resources as well as National Income Accounting. Dr. Stratis was an excellent instructor. He was clear and constantly checked for understanding. Go to class and pay attention. Text book was not as necessary as understanding what he said in class. He used examples from today and cared about education.

A very nice professor, the class is basically lectured based. You dont really have to attend since he does post notes everyday b4 class on his website. The test are actually gonna test you not on the fact that you can comprehend the term, but how to actually apply them to questions and explaing how and why you did that. WORD OF ADVISE,,GO TO CLASS

Very fair grader. The course may seem easy at first, but a lot of information is covered quickly (after the first month or so), so I would recommend reading your notes after each class to stay familiar with the material. Your answers have to be precise, as Dr.Stratis is preparing you to solve problems like an applied economist.

Dry as a bone, and monotone. Nice enough, but does not keep your interest. Very tough grader, he wants thorough explanations; definitions will not cut it, you have to truly understand the material. Also, he is one of those teachers who will show you once and expect you to understand it. I personally do not learn that way, so it was very difficult.

I took Dr. S for both Macro & Micro, because I was a business major and these were pre-req's. As long as you read the book and UNDERSTAND (NOT memorize) the material, you should do well on the tests, which are BASED on CONCEPTS, so you can't get by on memorizing. I changed my major to Econ because of his classes. Don't take him if you are dumb.

Okay-Okay, Yes, he speaks monotone and I did start to get sleepy but if you just listen for the key points you will be fine. He does post online notes which are helpful for his midterm and final. Also, He gives homework assignment (not often) that are keys to "ace"ing the mid-term and final. My opinion if you like Economic take him if not don't.
