Trad. of Storytelling. She assigned five books for us to read, gave us 2 comparative essays, a midterm, and a final. She is so helpful and wants her students to pass her class while understanding the material. One thing: she is NOT easy; she is a nitpicker with essays and will penalize for many many things. Very difficult class to get an A in.

Extremely smart, fair, and fun. Wonderful lady. Great help during office hours. Very approachable. Clear, and concise. Good reading selections. Medium work load. More reading than writing. Cool teacher. Just remember: Race, Class, and Gender and you'll be all set.

Intelligent, interesting, kind professor who knows her stuff. You'll learn a lot. The material was extremely contemporary and hip. She doesn't show favorites but loves when you participate. Always takes attendance. Always willing to help. She's British and has dreads - enough said.

I took this class a year ago, and loved every minute of it. Dr. Pitchford is a great teacher and the subject matter was very interesting as well. I am an English minor and this was one of the best classes I have taken thus far. She can be a tough grader, but she is extremely helpful outside of class,also very good looking. Take her if you can.

Very captivating, intelligent, and offers enjoyable reads. Seldomly takes attendance. Only a couple short papers, no quizzes, as the class mostly consists of class discussion. Seems nice on the outside but is such a hard grader. Expects college level writing. I learned alot though.

One of my favorite professors by far. She is so helpful during office hours, and just a nice person all around. Very intelligent, and chooses a nice variety of books for the class. I liked how she engaged the class in discussion, and never shot down anyone's opinion. Take her!!

awesome professor- i hope to take her again. really good and varied reading list- some of the novels we read are now my faves. class can drag a little, but she tries her hardest to keep things going. really cool lady, very smart, really nice and helpful outside of class. would definitely recommend.
