Comment:
Refused to use powerpoint & instead only used dry-erase markers. Board notes were as scattered as his thoughts making it very difficult to follow and gain understanding of concepts. Abbreviates absolutely everything sometimes without explanation so get ready to be confused. Tests come directly from these bad board notes. Over half the class dropped

Niels is an absolutely fantastic professor. His lectures are clear and structured. He uses the whiteboard extensively, and is very easy to follow along with. Make sure you attend class, as his lectures are not reproduced electronically anywhere, and assignments and tests draw directly from lecture. If you show up and pay attention, you'll do great.

Niels is the best prof Ive ever had. Made me want to pursue a degree in Economics. His lectures are interesting and not dull at all like some of the other econ profs. Not only do I and other students I talk to like him, but actually search out classes he is teaching.

Best professor at MtA - interesting lectures with current events to keep everything relevant, clear expectations for tests (do the problem sets!), fair grading, will accomodate any half reasonable request, and is helpful outside of class as well. Made for a great start to my Monday mornings - take a class with him & you might become an econ major!

He was very helpful and very nice. He made sure that everyone understood the course material and he would go over topics as many times as needed for the class to fully understand. The course material was difficult, but due to the clarity he provided the course itself was not.

I took intermediate macro course with Neils. He is friendly, accessible and helpful and I recommend taking courses with him. About grading, he is a fair grader, but you do need to study to pass his course.

Great professor if you like/love economics. Lectures are great for both theory and application - prof goes out of his way to include current events and data while maintaining rigorous explanation and analysis of standard theories. Midterms are challenging, finals are decent, and professor is very helpful accommodating to any half reasonable request

He is not good enough to teach at MTA.. he has alot of ego.. he has his own terminology if you can memorize it you will get good grades if not then u will fail.. half the class end up dropping because of that..his answers in sample question half of them dont make sense...apart from all this he is pretty chill..

Had Niels for Game Theory, which he was made for. Very straightforward, logical thinker. Likes to get the math behind the concepts but balances this with some focus on the big picture and paraphrasing. Great prof overall.

Dr. Anthonisen is the top prof at Mount A. I had him for first year microeconomics and enjoyed the course. Any future first years interested in economics, try to get a course wit Niels. You will not regret it!!!

Great prof, genuinely interested and learned in the course material. He can drag on and on with topics though, so the 80 minute classes can get boring fast. Provides up-to-date examples of how material applies to the real world to keep it interesting. I would definitely take more courses from him in the future.

Quite possibly the best prof at Mount A. Awkward sense of humour makes class a lot of fun. Is always prepared but never on time. Learned everyone's name and tests were returned quickly. Math concepts are explained so that even incapable math students like me can understand. If you have the chance, take a class with Niels.
