Comment:

Attendance isn't mandatory but then she has a grade for participation which includes random quizzes throughout the classes. Her tests are extremely hard, very few people get an A. And grades are never posted in Blackboard, I've seen my grade 3 times this semester (after each exam).

Comment:

One of the hardest classes. She gave maybe two A's, and students rarely pass her tests. She does not post any grades on blackboard. There are pop quizzes and in class group assignments so even though attendance isn't mandatory, going WILL help your grade. Also, extra credit is given; DO IT! No test reviews either, just a few sample questions.

Makes things a lot harder than they need to be, had a friend say they took this class with another prof and did great in it. Doesn't seem to care about her students and does not prepare you well for the tests. Knowingly asks trick questions and continues to do it. Do NOT take this class unless you are prepared to put in a lot of work on your own.

Most rude professor I've ever had. She asks trick questions on exams intentionally to confuse you and has laughed at me when asking questions in class. I went to office hours to ask questions and she said I either wasn't paying attention or didn't come to class. (I've never missed and I also have a 3.6 so I'm not stupid.) AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I don't understand why she has awful reviews on here. If you show up to class, take good notes, and give really detailed explanations on group work you will get an A! These reviews had me scared and this turned out to be one of my easiest classes. Test are straight forward, she doesn't try to trick you. STUDY

This class was horrible. She doesn't use BB so you don't really know where you stand grade-wise until the end of the semester. Her exams are difficult and you can't argue most questions because she specifically says that she "is always right". She grades group projects extremely hard. She give random quizzes during class.

I would not take this class as a fun elective. She does not use BB. If not a single person has an A in the class there is something wrong. Attendance is not hard to do but she will make you pay for it if you do not go and even if you do go. She gets annoyed when students do not understand her. Does not explain assignments very well.

I did not like this class or teacher, but I will say you need to study the concepts more than memorizing them. Ask yourself, why does this make sense? Instead of memorizing slides. Her questions demand you to understand why certain rules are the way they are, not to remember what matches with what. Trust me, I bombed tests not knowing this til late

No one in my class scored higher than an 83 on her tests. She grades harshly on tests, but not on projects if you put in the effort. I rented a $200 book that she never even opened, so don't get it unless you love HR books. And she has a sarcastic attitude every time you ask for help. I would avoid her classes.

If you cant avoid this class do so. If you cannot that is fine. She is a tough grader and does not use Blackboard at all. However she has a good personality, and is very nice. Hardest time I have had in a class since starting college.

I loved Dr. Gupta.. I really liked the way she lectured and I was always interested in what she was saying. It's a 4000 level business class so obviously it's not easy if you don't ever go to class and take notes. She's definitely super smart so sometimes it's hard to grasp what she's saying, but she's a great teacher. Do the extra credit!

Tests can be rough, but she curves if they are really bad. She gave us a lot of bonus points, so make sure you do it because it could change your final grade significantly. If you do not understand something, ask. If you don't it's on you.

This teacher is a Graduate level teacher in an undergraduate level class. She is VERY vague and only gave out two A's in the class. She doesn't make her projects or tests easy, and gives very little direction. She is funny at times; however, if you are a management major avoid this class. I went from being a 4.0 student, to now having a B.

Dr. Gupta is awesome! She is a genius so sometimes it takes a while to catch up but she really knows her stuff. I highly recommend her. Her class isn't easy but you learn a lot.

All the negative reviews are completely spot on- this is the most confusing professor at the U of A. She refuses to answer any questions and her lectures make no sense. I am a management major but after this class, I feel like I'd be better off working switching to art. Thanks U of Ac for another terrible experience.

I am currently in Organizational Staffing, and this woman is easily the worst professor I've had during my 4 year tenure at the UofA. Aside offering little to no help, you can't note anything she says because her lectures are so disorganized. She constantly contradicts herself and mutters. Save yourself and TAKE A DIFFERENT CLASS.

For all these people who complain....don't miss class. She doesn't review things. If you miss a day, it is up to you to teach yourself. Otherwise, she goes over things very well on the day they're taught. Has a good sense of humor and tries to be fair.

One of the worse teachers I have ever had! Don't expect her to teach; you're going to have to teach yourself. She's very educated and smart but has a horrible approach to teaching the materials. I have never struggled so hard in a class. Group stuff are horrible too. Pick a good group or else you'll suffer! Pop quizzes are also a pain!
