He is very nice and approachable but we were graded on 5 assignments which included 10 multiple choice per assignment. Those 5 assignments determined our final grade. Lecture heavy as in every class was simply a lecture.

I never felt like I really learned anything in this class. He went through powerpoints but skipped over most slides before we had the chance to write down the information. We also weren't allowed to use laptops in class which didn't help. Group projects weren't too bad, but had very few instructions on how to use the software.

His lectures teach you nothing. The homework's will help you on the exams but not the lecture notes. The lecture notes are power points he puts online. He said not to get the book however, the book explains the material better than he ever does. He gives a lot of extra credit though and curves the class at the end of the term.

He doesn't even make the exams. Takes them from other places, which is why they are so hard because what he teaches in class is 10x easier. He's an interesting guy, but I wasn't too interested in the subject which made it harder for me. But honestly he's too lazy to make his own exam, which is not only frustrating, but unfair. I would avoid.

The homeworks are pretty hard and the tests are harder. Not very helpful in explaining concepts. However, class is very interesting and entertaining

Pretty much a terrible class. Over a quarter of your grade is team based so if you have a bad team it really sucks. Also, the exams are much harder than the homework and practice exams and he has no scale even though they are worth 60% of your grade. Thought it was an easy A class, well that was not the case at all.

What he taught in class is easy but the materials in exam are more difficult. You have to read the econ book to get better understanding...I don't think his class is very valuable...

I took intro to micro with this guy. I seriously never used my text book. Never showed up to class some how I got a B for the term. I am currently taking intermediate micro with him, IT IS INSANELY HARD. I am dropping the class because Calc 4 is required prior to taking the class so be prepared before you ad a class like intermediate micro.

Class is set up to be very easy, still have to learn the subject material, but this won't be your hardest class. Oleg Pavlov is a great professor, he speaks with a bit of a russian accent, but is easy to understand. Funny, teaches material well, lots of resources for learning (book, lecture slides online, homework online). Print hwk before submit!

He's a fairly easy professor. Lectures are mostly from powerpoint, so they can be incredibly boring, but if you study them on your own, you'll know enough for the tests. He had 3 tests and dropped the lowest one, so if you do well on the first two, you can ignore the last two weeks of the term for this class.
