Comment:

She is a very nice lady, but this class was difficult. You must read LONG chapters out of textbook & learn material yourself. There were 5 quizzes on readings that are pretty difficult. There were 2 papers that she grades tough. No tests except for midterm and final. Midterm and final require you to know A LOT of the information from the textbook.

Comment:

She cares so much about her subject and her students! Her class consists of a fair amount of quizzes, a few tests, and a couple of papers on the novels. If you show up to class, contribute to class discussion, and do the reading, you will do great. The only students who struggle in her class are those who don't want to put any effort in.

There's a lot of reading in this class but the readings are worth it. We've read novels that correspond to the time period we're studying and then write essays on them. She lectures a lot but they're not dry. Participation matters and if you don't participate enough/often, she'll call on you purposefully. She's SO sweet and her office hours help!

Comment:

Sweetest Lady, cares so much about her students. However her classes have zero structure. Read and talk about it but doesnt give you a sense of what is important. Midterm, Final and 3 papers. Final was hard, all written answer. Lectures are boring and discussion based. Nice teacher, will offer help if you ask for it. Cares for well-being.

She's the best. While she assigns a lot of reading, she goes over it the next day so if you don't read it, you're going to be fine. Her quizzes are super easy and she has a reasonably structure syllabus. She genuinely cares about how you are doing and is always willing to talk to you during office hours if you need help. Definitely recommend!!

She's like your aunt who thinks you're too thin. She is super considerate and realizes that students have lives outside of class. Office hours are a must (she always has cookies) but she's kind of all of the place in her lectures. A few papers, projects, and exams and a terrifying final, and participation will save you.

Horrible teacher, plays favorites and her notes are disorganized. It's hard to follow along in class making it easy to become bored. Quizzes ok and midterm and finals are hard. Doesn't emphasize key points.

Quizzes are pretty easy if you pay attention in class. Does not post powerpoints of any sort, so you have to pay a lot of attention. Very big on attendance and class participation. Helpful to do reading before class. Papers help your grade.

Very enthusiastic about teaching. Is huge on class participation, so reading before class is key. She lectures the whole time but keeps it interesting. Incorperates novels into the study of history.

Professor Brennan is very entertaining and enthusiastic about the course material (although she can be a bit disorganized at times). Grade consists of two papers (tough grader but manageable) and a midterm/final (on a lot of material but not to bad). Easy B and to get an A is difficult but she'll work with you. Definitely worth taking!

Ahhhh! This class was torture! So boring and I could not tell you one thing I learned. She lectures a lot. But she has 2 papers which really help you out! Quizzes are hard. And Midterm and Final are Hard!! But I do not like history at all...
