This man's touch is death. He cannot hold your (or anyone's) attention, can't lecture, isn't a fair grader, doesn't even talk about the readings he makes you do. Does it really matter what this guy writes like when the living man is so low caliber? His class is so bad it raises the question: IS he a living man? Your boredom will be high, guaranteed

Omer Bartov is an excellent professor and historian. He has an immense trove of knowledge and can concisely explain and cogently critique the leading theories in his field. He was patient and helpful, and always gave generously of his time. If you read the comments on this page that claim he's distant and uninvolved, take them with a grain of salt.

An expert in his field, and it was obvious. Every lecture had SO much information, and he was able to synthesize a lot of information he has acquired to answer the questions really well. I loved every class! He also seems super nice.

I had read this board before taking this call fall 04, and i wish I had heeded its warnings. Genocide was a GODAWFUL class: incoherent, disorganized lectures, no mention of the reading, didn't stick to the syllabus, ludicrous grading (if bartov is section leader). Worst experience.
