Comment:

Best lit professor you'll ever have. She's so passionate about what she teaches, it'll make you believe that lit is your life as well. She wasn't the easiest class I've ever taken and attendance is mandatory, but it's completely worth it. Just a few pop quizzes and a couple of papers that she'll walk you through.

This is a great example of "don't judge a book by its cover." I was appalled by Prof. Covert's overall attitude in the first couple weeks of classes. She seems more like a drill sergeant than a professor at times. But she's clear enough and knows her LIT well enough that you should have no problem in this class. Very informative.

Enthusiastic about Lit. and knows what she's talking about. She makes you want to learn more. She grades pretty fair, but really looks into grammar and mla format, so make sure it's perfect. midterm, final, an essay with each, 1 research paper & a few "pop" quizzes. sounds hard but overall an easy class, especially if you come to class.

This professor is horrible. The fact that she allows bias and her sense of picking favorites to effect her teaching and grading shows how bad she is. I worked hard on my Core 1 and got a C-. Seriously don't take this professor. She is as smart as she is pretty.

She repeats herself alot. She feels like she needs to drill her points into your head. Very anal grader. Must attend at least 80% of classes or you fail. She always lets out early - overall, okay, but you can do better for Comp 1.

This isn't a hard class, she comes across very intimidating but she's actually nice. I think she's a tab biased and picks favorites. Overall, the class isn't bad and you always get let out early.

after the first paper is over most classes are only 15 mins long. she grades on how well you followed her directions, which arent always clear. made core 2,3,4 a project to imitate senior thesis. i got an A on a paper full of marks and a C on a "great story". she makes no sense. when you site something wrong she marks an x and wont help you fix it.

She is the best english teacher ever! She is so funny and she gives you a ton of time to work on your paper. You have at least 2 peer edits before each paper is due. If you need help on anything just ask and she will help you. If you show interest in her class she really tries to help you get a good grade.

Covert is hilarious and doesn't force participation unlike other lit teachers. I dunno why some people had a problem w/ her, as she was one of the easier and nicer teachers i've had in a while. Very easy grader, so if you're looking for a rather easy class, pick her.

She is obviously passionate about English lit and turned out to be a fairly easy grader, but the class is a mess. Lack of clarity, does not follow syllabus, constantly changing plans. But most of the time she reads to you and talks w/o overheads but that's ok cos none of it is on the test. Read the book, read the spark notes; you'll be fine.

One of the best teachers i have ever taken. A little intimidating at first but as class goes on she becomes really nice and approachable. She is very passionate about the material and cares about what students think. Fairly easy grader and cares more about what you got from the reading then what she thinks of it.

Horrible teacher. Easy class, but she made it hard. She will hold a grudge if she doesn't like you. She didn't follow the course syllabus at all. She took a month to return papers. She "taught" by reading to us in class and would then ask us how we felt. What a joke.

All I have to say is that I ended up putting together a 20+ page paper (writing, graphs, survey information)for one of my 4 core papers. She is HARD! HARD! I believe it's possible to get by with much less. However, my semester she would not tell us WHAT the real page limit was...only that we, basically, had to have enough. I was so nervous.

she is somewhat intimidating at first but just attend class all of the time and just show up to a few office hours and she will love you and your grade will show it...absolutely love her!
