Comment:

Great professor that cares a lot about your time. She asks that you read the chapter before class and participate in discussions. You don't have to know a lot about sports, but interest in sociology or sports is important. Four tests (including the final), two projects of your choice, and participation/attendance are the grades. Great class

Comment:

Dr. Sailors is great. Very intelligent, prolific researcher. Makes class very interesting, students have say over subjects. Very funny and likable. Practical. 70 % participation--seriously. Not the right format for this level IMO. Would be easy A if I hadn't missed 4 classes. Other than that, three easy essays, just use what she talks about.

Dr. Sailors is tough but fair. The actual assignments aren't difficult, but it can be hard to keep up with all the reading and writing assignments. I learned a ton from this class, and Dr. Sailors was very helpful. Don't show up late for class.

Dr. Sailors was the best teacher I have ever had. She is really funny and cares about her students. She grades fair and appreciates hard work. You have to do your homework and you write two papers. If you understand the material and try hard it shouldn?t be difficult to get an A.

go to class, do your 3 reading assignments, put some work in on the midterm & final. they were case studies that got you to apply some of the stuff you went over and you get an easy a. the class does get kind of repetitive after a while she has you read some interesting articles the textbook is very boring

Pam Sailors is nothing less than a great techer who is very passionate about the subject she teaches. I could have recieved an A in her course with a little more work. Even if you know nothing about philosophy she puts it into terms anyone can understand. Not to mention she's hilarious. Sign up for her class A.S.A.P.

Prof. Sailors is the best prof. I have ever had. You do have to put in effort you can't miss any class, if you do get notes from someone or else you will miss at least one ? on test, test are easy 7 or 8 questions, book is only needed if you want more understanding but all you need is EXACTLY what she writes on the board!! Awesome class and prof!!

She is VERY helpful in class if you do not understand something... she tells you exactly what to study for the test and there has never been a surprise on a test... very easy to get an A if you are willing to study for 1-2 hours per test. take this as a gen ed!! p.s. show up for class and she will like you so much more!

I've taken Dr. Sailors for going on 3 classes and she is one of my favorite profs. She can be a little intimidating at times but has a great sense of humor. She can smell BS from a mile away so read your stuff before a test.

She is a really fun professor--discussions were entertaining and thoughtful--I really enjoyed the class. We only had 3 writing assignments and a small paper. Participation was important, but since there were no tests, you didn't have to read a lot, which is nice on the one hand, but also I didn't feel like I learned as much as I could've.

Not as easy as I had hoped for, but got an A and was more interesting than I thought it would be. Dr. Sailors is very nice and tries to be funny a lot (does alright). One of the most helpful teachers I know, you can email her before tests and she'll almost give you the answers.

She is a really good teacher. You will probably hate the first few weeks of class but it really does get a lot easier as the semester goes on. The exams are completly essay but she gives you the questions that will be on the exam. Just study and u will do fine. I would definatly take her again.
