Wonderful professor who cares for student growth and learning. Her classes really let you focus on learning about the texts and context rather than worry about taking down all the notes--because she doesn't have any midterms or finals! Insightful lectures that make you think. The term project was really fun too!

Her passion for English studies rubs off on you. You might not enjoy her class right away if you're not very interested in English literature before the 1800's, but the more you listen to her, the more you will care about it. Extremely intelligent and charming, tough marker but provides helpful comments. Expects creative thought from students.

Dr. Badir is a really nice woman. She understood we weren't going to be able to finish all the readings that she wanted us to do this year so she cut out a few. She is open to looking over essay outlines. However, her comments on your outline and on your essay don't match the grade you get on the actual essay as she is a tough marker.

Great prof and class! She's genuinely interested in teaching and helping her students succeed. Super understanding if you need an extension. Totally fair marker and gives helpful notes on assignments. Gets secial permission to not give a final! The play performance was so much fun!!! One of the highlights of my term. Tak this class with her!

Very nice prof! She gives extensions on a whim and even let us submit our term paper to her via email at 11:59pm on the day it was due! Surprisingly though, she is a bit of a tough marker. Make sure to listen to her guidelines for assignments carefully. Performing a play was very refreshing for a 300 level course.

Professor Badir is an excellent professor. Her lectures are informative, clear, and inspiring. Her assignments are straightforward and her marking is fair. She is extremely knowledgeable on the literature covered, and she does an excellent job of balancing lectures with class discussion. I definitely recommend this class and this professor.

Badir is very nice and sweet. She has lots of film clips to show and she inspires discussion within the classroom. Super helpful if you ask her and provides and is open to new perspectives on any Shakespeare text. She WANTS originality so be creative if you take her class! Group presentation - Easy mark booster!

She's OK. Not bad. Passable. Badir definitely has her strengths, she's very passionate about her subject matter. Her sense of humor is very dry. Her marking veers to the harder side, she has very high expectations and is very focused on students contributing to 'scholarship'...if you're a really motivated student, you'll like her.

This was a great class and Prof. Badir is a great prof. The classes were interesting and informative, and she is really nice and helpful in office hours. I was skeptical about the performance of one of the plays she made us do, but it turned out to be so much fun, and it was a great way to wrap up the class. I absolutely recommend to everyone!!!

After searching for some way to describe her, all I can say is "NOT BAD". Lectures? "not bad..." Notes? "not bad..." Exams? "not bad..." not good, not bad, just good enough to be an OK class but not bad enough to warrant an emotional response.

I've had her now for 349, and this term shakespare. I think she is FABULOUS. So interesting, and takes you to see the REAL shakespeare texts at rare books. SUPER interesting class. My favorite prof at UBC!!!

She's generally a good prof. The presentations she insists on might seem annoying but they really add something to the course. She's also very helpful if you go talk to her. Her lectures do not go as deep into the text as I've come to like, but there's not much to complain about with her.

She doesn't really lecture- her TA was good, but I would have liked something more from her lectures than film clips with little analysis. Fair marker though.

Dr. Badir was a good professor in her helpfulness and in the way she helped with papers and the like. However, in class, though we watched a lot of film adaptations of Shakespeare, I didn't really feel like I learned THAT much in class. I enjoyed the class though. =) She is more interesting than some other English professors.

I took 220&348 w/ Dr. Badir. As a person she's kind, interesting, and very funny; as a teacher she's dynamic and open-minded - a pleasure to know. Overall, I didn't find myself challenged enough in 220. 348 made Shakespeare enjoyable and accessible for me - the performance of Much Ado was the best group project I've had at UBC!
