I have been in her class for about 3 months now and honestly it was not the best I would have hoped for. She stops in the middle of the lecture to offer "advice" which is pretty much irritatingly saying, "Don't take notes!" I eventually just resorted to learning the material myself. The lectures are thick and material is very bland.

She's a really great teacher and helps students to understand what she's teaching. You don't need to take notes because she posts her slides on Titanium. Everything important is in red or green. That being said, you still need to pay attention during class or you will get lost. Test questions are given during the review verbatim, give or take a few

Shes super nice but was hard to understand bc of her accent. 3 midterms and 1 final but if you have an average of an A of the three midterms you dont have to take the final. extra credit for attendance. many notes to memorize

It is the hardest out of all my classes. She is hard to understand and is always saying to not write things down???. There are 3 midterms and 1 final. The midterms are 50 questions, multiple choice, but completely hard. The questions will not make any sense unless you pour your heart and soul into it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

At times it was hard to understand her because English isn't her native language. The class itself was hard. Exams are tough. Show up to class and you can get extra credit. She curves the class by the end of the semester. If you stay after class and ask questions, she's willing to help. She's enthusiastic and she really cares for her students.

Cheng is very fast paced and astronomy is not the easiest subject to follow. The lab and this class did not sync well together. I received a C in this class and an A+ in lab. Her lectures were confusing and tests were difficult unless you really put in effort to understand many concepts. Maybe it just wasn't for me.

As long as you know the information you should be fine. Half of each test is questions that you've already seen, so pay attention to questions that you do in class and on previous tests. Show up because it can raise your grade up to 2%.

3 tests and 1 final. If you are over 85% (with extra credit) with the 3 tests you won't need to take the final. Extra credit is given by showing up to class. A base 2% is given to all students with a chance up to 4% if she circulates the attendance sheet twice. Slides posted online. No book needed. Tests are easy with 5-6 out of 45 trick questions

PAY ATTENTION AND TAKE GOOD NOTES!!! You don't HAVE to attend, but you should, because she can explain things clearly and makes it fun. Her exams are pretty tough. You have to actually know the process of equations and examples. She will make sure you think during the exams. make sure to really study. this isn't an easy A class.

She is very nice and willing to help. She has an accent but shouldn't get in the way, you get used to it. Some sections, especially where it gets physics heavy, are a bit difficult but not impossible to understand. She does curve, if you get an A (even a 90%)on the first 3 exams you don't have to take the final and you get an A+. Tests are fair.

I'm in her class right now though and I wish I had dropped. She's hard to understand, not because of her accent, but because she's unclear in general when explaining topics (and she talks sort of quietly too). If you're bad at physical sciences then this class will be difficult. Prof. Cheng is really nice though and very willing to help.

She is a very easy teacher. There is no homework at all. If you want to pass this class make sure you seat in the front or you not going to pay attention to her cause the class gets very boring. Test are somewhat easy if you actually pay any attention to her.

never even bought the book. All the test materials are on her powerpoint. However, the class is somewhat difficult because it is in the afternoon and the material that she covers can be a bit dry and boring. grade consists of 4 exams. don't need to take final if you have an A in the class after taking 3 exams. and drops the lowest test score.

Super easy class. Lectures can be boring and she's not that hard to understand like people are making her out to be on here. Could probably pass without ever going to class, all notes are online. If you don't get at least a B in this, you should probably think about quitting school

She is one of the nicest professors, but the tests do not reflect her notes. I worked so hard and couldn't get an A. Most people will get below a C on tests because they are that hard. Fun class though.

Dr. Cheng reminds me of Prof. Trelawney from harry potter but not as depressing hahaha.. she has a very cute personality! anyways as far as the class goes, you def have to study for her tests because they're not easy. her questions are based off her lecture notes so i highly recommend attending class
