Dr. Debly truly cares about her students. She is always available to give whatever help students need- whether it is study methods, course material, or essays. Her lectures can be heavy but she lectures in a way that you can understand the material. You must work for your marks but she is fair and has clear expectations.

She seems to think it's her job to root out those students she thinks are "unfit for university" and scare them off with her ridiculous exams. Her grades aren't based on giving you marks for the facts you have written, but more for taking marks off for everything you forgot. First year students can't be expected to memorize the entire textbook.

Not afraid to work you hard.. She frequently packs too much content into a course, which means a lot of stuff gets glazed over. Can be very helpful... if you ask for help, that is.

Being a 5th year student I expected a 1st year music history class to be quite easy, but was I ever wrong. She seems nice, but takes her class way too seriously, enough to kick people out of lecture with 10 minutes left! And all of her tests are ridiculous. She expects us to learn 2 years worth of material in 1, not good for ppl starting uni.

This is possibly the worst class I have ever taken. The professor is a nice lady, but seeing that I am an upper year student, I can say with confidence that she expects way too much from first year students. She is unspecific when it comes to her tests. If you can avoid taking this class, please so.
