Comment:
Dr. Moore does appear intimidating and soften up as the semester goes by. You are required to read the next chapter before the next class and a presentation one of the chapters. She will ask students to tell her their perspective and understanding about the chapters. If most of the class didn't read the chapter, she will throw in a pop quiz.

I took my first ever course at Langara with Patty, and she was amazing. She really helped me see and realize what feminism is really about. The homework load was quite easy, and you only have to do two essays, and weekly readings, and the notes taken from your weekly readings, you can use for the mini quizzes she gives.

Patty is super inspirational and really attentive. If you're looking to take your first WMST class, I'd recommend her in a heart beat. Patty's classes are pretty easy so long as you're willing to do the readings. Otherwise, the workload is light, and her marking is easy. She's very smart, and her classes are interesting.

Patty is one of the best instructors I've ever had in Langara. She' s always there to listen and guide you toward success. The class in itself is fun but Patty makes it a whole lot better. She's open to listen on differing thoughts and opinions without imposing her own. All in all, a great class and an amazing teacher.

Patty's probably the favourite prof I've ever had. She's so sweet and helpful, not only for class work but offering her advice and support towards my career path in social work. You can tell she really cares about her students and for what she teaches. She's a great, clear, engaging speaker.

Patty is a wonderful teacher and a kind woman. She makes her class fun, and I enjoy doing the homework for her class. I love Patty's laid back teaching style, and the way she leads class discussion. She listens to what everyone has to say, and doesn't put anyone down. Patty is a real gem, take a class with her! you won't regret it.

Patty is one of my favorite and most memorable profs. She is an amazing woman and one of those people who make you want to learn. Her classes are always so enjoyable and engaging. The material and assignments are actually fun to do. She is very open and caring to all students. Take any course you can with her, she will really change your life!

Patty is a very caring woman and I like her fine as a person, however, I do not like her as a teacher. I feel like the course content reflects purely on what she's interested in and doesn't give a broader look at women, especially in history. That's just me, and clearly everyone else loves her so you should probably just ignore this review.

Patty made women's studies very enjoyable and interesting. There's lots of discussions, and you really benefit from getting to know the other women in the class. She doesn't try to push feminism onto anybody, and respects or least lets everyone share their opinion without negating it. The course makes you challenge yourself to be active in society.

I took the 3 hour class (one day a week). There is a quiz every class on the readings (closed book, but you can use your own notes). Quizzes are easy (nothing too in-depth). you must attend one event out of class and write about it. I didn't do that but it's easy (20% of your grade). she is quite nice, lots of discussions in class.

All of the previous positive comments about Patty are accurate. Her class is laid back and interesting. 1 brief quiz/week on readings, 1 final paper, 1 group project and 1 short paper on an event. I find her less radical than some of the other wmst instructors. Take Patty's class for a fun/interesting time and a pretty easy A/B.

This prof. I think singlehandedly made me interested in both Womens Studies and Peace & Conflict Studies, two disciplines I ended up loving. I am now at UBC in Political Science and will always remember her as an example of how Langara has some really amazing teachers. Kind, caring and a great representation of a WMST prof.

patty is a hotty and a smarty... I found her class a little sappy at first but you get used to that. Attendance is definitely not mandatory, and you don't have to hand anything in on time, either BUT DON'T TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU DON'T LIKE GROUP PROJECTS
