John is knowledgeable, and quirky. I found his expansive knowledge of psychology extremely attractive. I would take every single one of his classes. It's a shame every thing's online, less time to admire this god of psychology.

Conklin is a very good prof, he gets u in the habit of reading texts and figuring out stuff on your own. These other reviews are bafling to me, you cant expect the teacher to teach you absolutly everything. If you cant learn to teach yourself some concepts then you wont make it in university.Highly recommended

Very knowledgeable with experience, and logical. Mostly self taught and must read textbk. Lectures r extremely interesting and full of added knowledge and side notes, but not a must. Focuses on biology. Sometimes off topic, but related to psych. Lots of work, weekly assgnmnts. My favorite prof. not a prof for everyone. very open to discussion.

He's sarcastic and snarky, but he doesn't mean to insult. Very helpful and quickly responds to emails. Offers a lot of bonus assignments, my final grade was above 100%! Offers to edit your paper for you if you hand it in early. All tests and assignments are online. Lectures are fairly quick and miss things. Read the textbook. He's not for everyone.

I was sadly disappointed in the professor of this course, I feel as if I wasted my time to fumble with computers for much of class, get off topic with things that were unrelated to the course, and be so dissociated with any students. This was an overall horrible class experience.

Awful, awful teacher if you can even call him this. I was baffled the entire duration of my stay. I paid for a teacher, not a succession of powerpoints.

I found the course really interesting. You don't really need to come to class because he has really good notes and quizzes online but to learn more in depth and real expierances and information that isn't just boring textbook info it's really interesting. I actually looked forward to this only morning class. I only missed one of his classes.

This class was ridiculous. By the end no one was coming because John is very hard to understand and his lectures come right off his online powerpoints. I got an A in the course with only going half the time, and I really don't feel like I've learned anything. Skip this class if you're only looking for an elective.

I loved John, he really knows his stuff. This is a class that you MUST read the textbook in, and there is something due every class, so it's a lot of work that's required but it's a very interesting course. I had no interest in it at first but it became my favorite class this semester. Be prepared to work fairly hard!

I dropped this class and I am glad I did. He treats his in-class students as if they were in an online self taught course. I am perfectly able to teach myself but when I am paying for someone to teach me I expect them to teach. Save your money and your time take this course with a different prof.

This course is tough! But John makes a lot of accomodations to help students raise their grades. He is very nice, if not a bit reserved and quiet. Be careful about making certain comments or assumptions; you're in trouble if you can't justify them or back them up with evidence or reason.

At first this class felt very intimidating! If you are willing to work hard and you have an interest in the material then you will do really well. Make sure you do all the labs and practice quizzes. I found this class very intesting and John was SO funny! I'll be honest this class was not easy but if you work hard you will do well!

John is an amazing teacher. He really knows his stuff. He's very funny and doesn't mind having good discussions with his students. He always says hi to me whenever I bump into him or see him around campus. He teaches clearly and precisely and shares his own personal experience about certain aspects of psychology with his class, which makes it more

Great teacher, very knowledgeable, but if you plan on taking it just to fill your schedule than don't bother, you'll do poorly. You have to work to get a good grade, i promise you will know more about psych than you ever have before. the textbook is the gospel for the course, but understandably, its not a course that can be learned in 1hr per week.
