She made the class interesting by providing in depth discussions on important philosophers and their ideas. There is some homework but its manageable. She group assignments in specific sections and grades them respectively.

Ok, shes nice and inspirational, but show up to every class. My grade dropped one letter for not showing up on the last day of class after the final. If you want to meditate beginning of class and talk and learn a bout philosophers this is your class. Loved the course and topics we talked about.

I don't know what these kids are saying but this teacher sucks. I'm over a month into the course and I haven't learned a thing. I have to google her materials because her lectures do not make sense and she leaves out a lot of stuff. She also assigns readings, quizzes, and homework like she's the only class you're taking. Save yourself.

Although you may take the class physically, most of the material is done online. Grading criteria is not very clear but once you get the hang of it, you realize the class is quite easy. No quizzes and you can take the tests anytime. Tests are based off the textbook but it is skimmable. Replies to emails often so you can get help if confused.

This course is relatively easy. She has a roster list, but if you show up once a week, she won't drop you. All her tests are online, and come straight from the book. The weekly homework assignments aren't hard, they mostly ask for your opinion, and don't usually require reading. Do the weekly assignments, keep up with the tests, and you'll pass.

Dr. Shannon is a great professor. She makes the material very clear (although it is kinda tough and requires effort) and her daily mindful meditation exercise in class is truly transforming... I would take her class again.

Patrica aka trish is a very nice lady. she understand people have a life out of school. She has a quiz every week but it's open book. Her final is also open book. If you participate and do the work its an easy A. OPEN BOOK EVERYTHING!!!!

This is a really really easy class and you have to work really hard to fail it. Professor Shannon is a nice person. Beware, her own beliefs influence her interpretation of various philosophies so what you are getting is really her take on a particular philosophy or religion and not necessarily what they actually teachpractice.

Professor Shannon is a nice person, but her teaching methods are very confusing. Her tests are vague and you cannot quite figure out what she is asking. She also makes numerous mistakes on her own tests and later has to go back to correct them. HIGHLY confusing. I would not recommend this class.

Average Teacher. Her class is not hard in the traditional sense. Her tests and quizzes are filled with vague questions and grammar mistakes. The hardest part is deciphering what she is asking. The word "proofread" does not seem to be in her dictionary.

She's a great teacher, but reading the book bored me to sleep. I used to be interested in philosophy before I took this class. You'll get an A as long as you do the weekly assignments and readings--the tests are open book, but timed, so you do have to read.

i'm taking her right now for my philo class. she is AWESOME. never had a teacher that have opened my mind to the lectures. she's really nice too. you do need to read the text she gives you though. but it's all worth it. you can really tell she loves teaching.

Excellent professor, one of the best professors at chabot. You can tell she loves to teach!Her class is not hard at all. Test are open book, open notes. very little homework except you gotta collage. OMFG i freaking loved Dr. Shannon. She is one of the most amazing teachers EVER. A little intimidating at first, but then one discovers that she's spunky, intelligent, and just flat out awesome. She really connects with her students. If you take any Humanities classes, TAKE DR SHANNON.

This class was interesting! The reading was good, not too long, lectures were power points-which is easy to follow :) work was easy, lots of collages. Good class, good teacher...show up, do the work and you can pass with an A!

An easy class, you just need to do the readings, pay attention to the lectures and do the work. Her lectures are always interesting and it's a lot of writing but she's an easy grader. The semester paper was about anything in popular culture that interests you and was really fun to write. Definitely recommend her.
