If you want to take a class and sleep through it, this is your course. though not all the time i have to say. he does have some interesting ideas sometimes, and the odd time i wont want to hang myself by my shoelaces to get out of class. really DRY subject, so i couldn't imagine a teacher making it fun.

Comment:

Mr. Buteux is an excellent speaker, but has a tendency to sometimes travel off on tangents (which might be alright for a politics course). Can seem jumpy at times. It's clear he has his own view and political preferrence, but I don't agree that he forces it down the students' collective throat. Very friendly.

I was stunned by Buteux's blatantly biased, prejudiced, and arbitrary grading style. Make the same argument that he would make in a paper, or you won't get an A; he'll even tell you as much. The Senate should have been on his ass a long time ago. Keep away unless you're prepared to compromise your views.

Although Dr. Buteux can seem intimidating to first and second year students, don't be scared off. By the time you make it through Strategic Studies in fourth year, he'll be taking your class to the pub for a pint or two.
