Here's the thing: probably the nicest guy ever. My favorite professor to talk to/visit in his office. Completely hilarious. He's also extremely intelligent and has some really interesting ideas. Classes, though, aren't always well-organized and you're often left confused as to what's going on. That said, a lot of good comes through in the end

Professor Gebhardt makes the material interesting. He has a sense of humor and a love of teaching. He is late to class often. He is very quirky, so it takes time to get used to his idiosyncrasies. But you can excuse his quirks because he is who he is, and that's a good teacher and a good human being.

Gebhardt is the cutest person in the world and he makes class really fun. I wish I could put him in my pocket and carry him with me wherever I go and listen to all his hilarious comments. He made the material of the class interesting and I learned a lot.

Okay, so here's the thing. Gebhardt is a major link in the old Kenyon gossip-mill. No matter what he says to your face, you can bet that he is talking about you to other people, and it won't be nice. He may be enthusiastic, but that is negated by his total lack of organization, as well as his tendency to stab his students in the back.

I love the Gebhardt. He's funny, nice, and very helpful. I didn't think his class was very hard, so I asked for extra work and he gave it and was willing to meet during office hours and correct it. He just got tenured this year (04-05), so hit his classes up.
