What do you expect from the man who wrote the curriculum and chairs the department? This course can be extremely tough or fairly easy depending if you do what is asked of you exactly as it is asked. He retired after 40 years and I believe it will be hard to fill his shoes. Very intelligent and cannot be snowed. But I did love the class-worth it!

Most of the comments on here are way misleading. This guy is great. His class is very easy and he spells everything out for you. Any homework you do, he goes over in class, and then it becomes a study guide for test. This makes it easy to study and ace the multiple choice tests. You have to be a complete slacker not to get an A.

The UAAs are really simple if you follow instructions. He's really clear and all of the test questions come from the pink booklet. For the UAAs all lyou need to do is have the proper heading, get your article from an academic journal (THAT'S what messes a lot of people up), summarize and then relate it back to the lessons. Easy peasy.

im in his class now and i do the work do amazing on tests and because he assigns application assignments and makes you revise them 100 times until they are what he wants even though he never specified. he likes to hear himself talk about the stupidest things with no relavance.

I'll say it once.... DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! I'm a good student with a 3.4 GPA and all the knowledge in the world won't help you in this class. This guy makes his own pointless rules and rambles on about the most useless information that has no revelence to anything.... If you dont believe me please by all means, see for yourself.

Only way I can see this class being very difficult is if you're a moron. Yes, the guy's strict on attendance but he's smart & pretty funny. I'm a slacker type of student and I got an A. Just show up and do the minimal work he requires and you're fine. Tests are easy and UAA's are a joke. I did one 15 min. before class and got it passed.

At first I thought he was a tough teacher bc of what people wrote on here but after taking him and listening and doing what you have to do to succeed, I did well. I attended every class and did all my work. Then it came to the tests.I did bad then I did ok with a few. I was suppose to get a C.He bumped me up to a B.He's not as bad as u think.

Keating expects A LOT. Attendance is a must and you don't want to be late at all. He takes points for not coming to class, being late, and every little possible detail you can think of. & makes you revise your unit analysis until it is PERFECTION. Hw is easy, but tests are not. His class is tough and Keating is ridiculous and anal about everything.

Although i'm the first to admit he is not the friendliest guy in the world he definately isn't the worst. He does expect alot, however thats better then expecting nothing.I believe he is slightly disconnected from him students, but overall if you complete the assingments fully you should do fine!

It's not that he gives you too much work, but he makes you redo everything, until the work load adds up and you owe him 5 papers. He is definately the hardest teacher ive had at brookdale, and Im not doing amazing... but he isnt as mean and cruel as everyone says he is. Id say dont take more than 9 credits while taking his class.

The WORST of the WORST!!! Keating has to be one of the worst professors to walk the halls of Brookdale. He makes you write stupid Unit Analysis papers that he made me revise FIVE TIMES!!! I had the paper checked by english teachers and they all said it was fine, so what is Keating's problem? Don't take his class, it was seriously awful.

What a JERK!!! They keep him at BCC because he's been there for 37 years. This was my worse experience at Brookdale and my first C ever! The absolute most unhelpful proffesor to be found!

professor Keating kept the course light with a great sense of humor. 5 multiple choice tests, 2 uaa's and 1 synthesis paper.I did not have to revise either of the uaa's, but had to revise the synthesis paper. He was very specific about what needed revision.He'll give you a hard time with a wink and a smile if he thinks you're not interested.

VERY difficult professor! He is an arrogant, unflexible, a******! Takes himself way too seriously and is not helpful in the least. I had a hard time writing the unit assignments and stayed after class numerous times for help. He doesn't take into consideration the effort you put forth- just whether he likes your work or not. Avoid him if possible!
