I dropped after several class sessions. This man embodies the problems within the educational system of the Liberal Arts Universities. He should NOT have tenure, I'm embarrassed to call myself a cardinal. Forget getting an education, agree with his irrationalities, and pass. But at that point, why waste money on Anti-Educators?

Munn is tough but if you ask questions and try to understand his perspective you'll do well. Always talk to him about papers and send him multiple drafts, making all corrections he tells you to because trust me, he's right. If you don't know your stuff you won't pass, so study.

Professor Munn is a difficult professor, but I learned more through his class than through any other yet. He pushed me to think outside the box in my analyses and helped fine-tune my writing. If other students attended office hours for papers and put more work into reading and analysis for his quizzes, they'd stand more of a chance of success.

Dr. Munn is very passionate and knowledgeable about the material. His discussions were fun and thought-provoking. However, his grading is very strict and very tough. Work with him on your papers so you understand exactly what he wants. Study and think about assignments to do well on quizzes. Do not expect an "A" in this class.

This course was tough and he expected a lot from the class. He is sarcastic and most people in my class didn't get above a C. This class will challenge you, so don't take it if you're not willing to work hard or put in a lot of time outside of class.

I wish I would have read all of these comments before I took his class!! He isn't the hardest professor I've ever had, just the most contradictory and arrogant. He expects you to know what he is thinking and to write about that. If your interpretation of the work doesn't match his, prepare to get a C or below. He also mocks Christians frequently!!

The worst English professor ever..this is Eng. 201, which is supposed to be an intro level class. He grades like everyone has the educational level equivalent to his. Plus he doesn't seem to care about passing or failing a student. He really needs to get closely evaluated because I highly doubt that the majority is passing.

No, you're not going to get an A. What you will get is more learning than any SVSU prof has to offer and reading & writing skills that will benefit you the rest of your life. His knowledge & love for literature is infectious if you're tough enough to get past his rough exterior. Take Munn if you're passionate about literature, you won't regret it!

Just avoid. Believe all of the negative comments. The positive ones don't sound like they are written by students. You will get more from other professors and the chance of getting a reasonable grade for your work without having to feel like an idiot. Don't be fooled by the comments about getting your money's worth from his class! Just avoid.

Super difficult -- grad level class! However, I definitely got my money's worth in this class; I learned SO much, and I added 6 poetry collections to my Christmas list. Dr. Munn is not easy by any means, but literature isn't easy, especially not poetry. Give this class everything you have, keep a positive attitude, and you'll be glad you took him.

If you care about your GPA at all, do NOT take this class! He is rude and sarcastic, and makes fun of students for making mistakes! Not helpful at all, and extremely harsh with grading. Nearly impossible to do even remotely well.

Possibly one of the hardest professors I've ever had but I enjoyed his class. I wouldn't recommend if you're not an English Major or are looking for an easy A. He pushes you hard and you're going to have to put a lot of thought into your work but a good grade is possible. I got a B+ and have learned more from him then other English Professors.

Dr. Munn is easily the least helpful and most demanding professor in the English department. His lectures are informative and interesting, but beyond that he shows very little consideration for the fact that his students are undergraduates and not at his intellectual level. He is condescending, intimidating, and smug, and purposely so. Avoid.

Dr. Munn is very difficult, but I enjoyed his class. He's very hard, but I appreciated that. It's not often in college that I felt challenged, but each one of his lectures was a challenge adn I loved it! If you want an easy A, don't take him. Take him if you want to push yourself.

If not an english major, do not take this professor. If you do not get his point of view, you won't get a good grade. Very harsh in grading, is somewhat helpful, but still very difficult. Dropped this class, was going to ruin my GPA, would rather take a professor that I can learn something from.
