Hard class. No text book reading, but reading from other things that you don't think you need to read but actually find out you have to once you take the tests. Open book quizzes - which are still super hard to pass. Tests are hard too. Lectures aren't super interesting, but he provides a lot of information that's directly on exams

An intelligent conservative poli-sci professor at a very liberal university. Isn't afraid to make his views known, but doesn't make you feel inadequate for holding other views. If you're going to take an intro course, take it with Crockett.

Do not take Dr. Crockett unless you are white, male, and straight. He WILL grade you down on written assignments if you have a different opinion.

Dr. Crockett is defintely one of the best professors out there. It is obvious that he puts much effort into organzing the structure of the class, and he provides insights into the political system that most do not have. Classes were very engaging, despite what the idiot below me said. Tests are not tough, just a bit tricky.

this class is really hard. you have to study a lot more than just your notes, and the readings. in the test he gives you 15 multiple choice that are really confusing and then 2 essay questions. you have to do all this in 50 minutes.

Originally, I disliked this class. Every day is a lecture & I didn't find it engaging. The tests were harder than expected because he requires you to study far more than he actually tests you over. When I went in to ask for help, he ended up confusing me more and not really answering my ?'s at all. In the end, I did learn a lot & I'm glad I took it

Arrogant and offensive, but not in a funny way at all. How some people can love Crockett is beyond me. Useless outside of class, and will grade you down if he disagrees with you. I have never been so deeply offended by anything a teacher has says before. Avoid at all costs

Crockett is an awesome teacher. Readings not mandatory, but I recommend you do at least most of it. Go to class, not only because his lectures pretty much make up all of the test info, but also because he is funny and very smart. Take this class!

Dr. Crockett is a phenomenal teacher who challenges his students to do more than simply memorize. If you take this class seriously, you will emerge prepared to intelligently discuss American politics and critique a sometimes convoluted system that so many people today do not understand.

One of the most articulate men you will ever meet. Gives new meaning to the term "intelligent conservative". Great family man and passionate about what he does. He will challenge you and creates a great learning environment. Just ask any polysci major at TU: he's the best.

Amazing teacher - the best I've had at Trinity so far. Most interesting lectures I've ever been to... he really makes you think. Reading is HEAVY and difficult (Plato and Aristotle and the like are not light reading). He's a tough grader. Classical Political Thought is a hard class, but a good one. Don't take it with a heavy schedule.

Grades essays very strictly but tests not so much. With Butler, most prepared lecturers I've known. Very conservative but very fair to all students. If you take dilligent notes, there is almost no outside reading that has to be done (I got an A- without buying any books.)

My favorite professor at Trinity. Hilarious, brilliant, articulate, overall the sweetest guy with an obvious love for teaching, students, and family. If I chose one professor to remain in touch with after graduating, it would be him.
