I don't understand why his rating is so low! Paul is one of my favourite profs at Huron. No, his slides don't spell out the entire course, but if you listen and take notes like in a traditional lecture, its not hard. He's very intelligent and knowledgable about politics. I guess if you don't like politics you won't like the class, so don't take it.

Terrible professor. Very unclear. Expects you to know everything before he teaches it. Simply reads off a piece of paper and all his slides are quotations. Worst class. Very hard marker. Not helpful at all.

PNL is one of the best profs I have had in political science at Western. He is very knowledgable in Canadian Politics especially and was very helpful with all assignments. He is approachable and cheerful. If you love political science, he is an excellent prof!

Dr. PNL is a doll! His lectures are entertaining and imformative and he encourages participation from everyone. His exams are fair and based on lecture content - so show up for class! He even had a Bonus mark buzzword: "Romansch" on the final.

This professor has a very high opinion of himself. This translates to his students, as he expects nothing but the best. If you're interested in pursuing political science at university, then I recommend it. If your goal is fleshing out your political knowledge, STAY AWAY. The course is not very friendly to students searching for a high mark.

What an inspiring professor! There is no cutting corners in his classes though. He expects a lot from his students. Makes you really want to work hard though. He knows his material, a brilliant man. Office door is always open. Recommend his classes for sure! Do your readings, write essays in advance and participate and you will be fine!

In my year spent with PNL, I have found him to be rude, pompous, conceited, and an overall failure as a professor. I dreaded his classes, and it seemed as though his goal was to fail us. you shouldn't be fooled by his seemingly polite manner, and his British accent. The only advice I can give, is to avoid this class at any cost.

Overall he seems like a nice person, but does not fit the role of a professor. He is very conceited, and his marking is random. Sometimes you will get a good mark for something poor and sometimes you will get a horrible mark for work that has been very well done, it all depends if he agrees with you. I expect more from a university professor.
