He is great prof a little weird but show up to every class and take notes and you will be just fine. I didn't buy the book I just studied from his slides and the notes I took and did very well.

Comment:

Decent prof. He wants students to succeed. The report was a bit vague and he asked if we had any questions about it the day it was due which was odd. Exams are a bit difficult and he is very vague in telling class what to expect, basically he says anything could be on it. Normally profs provide some hints and ideas about types of questions.

Comment:

Cares about the students and actually learns everyones names. Is willing to help struggling students. However, said the final was going to be some theory and some math. Ended up being 5 theory questions from the textbook. Highly unfair to those students who attended every class.

Avoid. Said the final was going to be mostly theory, questions like assign 3 (2 math questions) and could bring in a formula cheat sheet. Final was all theory, mostly glossed over and no math at all. Nothing about the main principles. Many slides were wrong and assignments were direct questions from text based on material not covered in class.

Homework and mid term were easy enough if you studied for it. The final was somewhat unfair I thought, 5 questions you either knew or you didnt. The final had some material we barely talked about in class though so many people just skimmed over it and studied other stuff that you would think would be on there - but wasnt. Otherwise hes a cool guy.

I don't understand some of these low ratings... Pavel is very clear about his expectations for students, which is more than I can say about some teachers. He is also very clear when he explains a concept, using examples and linking the content to the real world. If you go to class, *do the assignments*, and study a bit, you'll do well.

This isn't a very difficult class as long as you are willing to actually go to class (which is difficult for some business students) and read the textbook. The tests are easy if you study the material. It was my last final in Uni, so I didn't study for it, and ended up with a 96 in the class.

Overall he is a great prof, pay attention to his lectures and examples because he teaches exactly what you need to know. Give an honest effort and you'll do great in his class. Quizzes are hard (not worth much), but midterms are fairly easy.

Man, is this guy in love with the sound of his own voice! Difficult tests and crappy overheads. If he put a little more effort into his notes, his students would do better. Methods presentation evaluation were unfair. Avoid this guy unless you're a girl who just wants to look at an attractive prof.

He's GREAT to look at!!! He makes sure he repeats himself if he thinks he is unclear. He really wants you to understand the material. His favourite phrase is "in other words...". He's got a good sense of humour as well.

Probably the most knowledgable prof. i've ever had. his tests are challenging, but reasonable and he will help you if you're willing to learn..plus you gotta love the accent!
