Pedro is a wonderful man who is full of energy, life and good stories. More importantly however, he is a wonderful and passionate teacher with great understanding and analysis of Latin American texts. His knowledge of history also helps him place epics and satire in context. You must take a class with him if you are a Spanish language student!

In retrospect, I wish I'd taken every single Spanish class at BU with Lasarte. He's incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The best part- he's the only Spanish prof at BU who believes in giving A's to his students. Class is incredibly fun because of all of his hilarious stories. Take Lasarte!

He is hilarious and keeps the dry spanish stories we must read very entertaining with his interjections. Class includes going over concepts, and there is no homework. Semi self-learning here but he will help out if you need it. Highly recommended.

Professor Lasarte is extremely intelligent and a brilliant lecturer. He is enthusiastic about what he teaches and inspires me to appreciate literature and philosophy. The things I have learned in his class have helped me earn A's on papers for other classes. A hilariously, enlightening and profound class.

Lasarte is by far the best professor at BU. His classes fill up in a second and it's for a good reason. He's extremely laid back, caring, funny, and an overall great teacher. A native Spanish speaker, he knows so much about the Spanish language. Very easy to understand - if you can't get into any of his classes, you're really missing out!

Lasarte is incredibly knowledgeable and poignant. Although not a difficult class, he stresses the importance of conversation and analysis without the pressure of most small language classes. NOT LECTURE-BASED; class is frequently based on YOUR ideas, not his alone. I highly recommend his class- very difficult to get it, but completely worth it.

Best teacher I have had at BU. His lectures are incredibly useful if you pay attention as well as hilarious. He is a fantastic story teller. He is a very fair grader and does give plenty of feedback. Lasarte's amazing! Makes class discussion very enjoyable (unlike most lit seminar courses) and really makes sure that you understand the stuff rather than have you memorize pointless information. Extremely clear and fair on assignments. You get the grade you work for.
