This is such a fun Core with Peggy! She gives students a chance to branch out of their comfort zone and have fun. There are scenes to memorize but certainly different from your typical classroom lectures. She only assigns one five page paper, but other than that, just show up and she hands out an A.

Hilarious professor. She makes class very fun. Especially at 8am. Coming to class isn't that big of a deal but it's always good to come so you won't fail. It won't be fun if you aren't into it. Improvisations were my favorite part of the class! You do write a paper for your final scene.

Comment:

Acting 101 was so much fun! Professor Penniman plans the best activities for class. I didn't think I would like having a act out skits and improvs in front of others, but I really enjoyed this class. Professor Penniman provides great feedback to help you improve. This class was an easy A for me. I would definitely recommend for a core credit!

Splits you off into pairs a lot. Very eccentric; however, sweet and funny. Show up to class and it's a guaranteed good time if your other classes are stressful. One 5 page paper and final scene project with partner

A very eccentric and fun theater professor! In the beginning she teaches you the basics and you play a lot of games. As the semester goes on you do scenes with a partner. If you show up and she sees you trying your best you will pass. Just have fun

This class is easy, but if you are looking for a class that will expand your acting skills, this isn't it. She is too nice when giving feedback so I did not learn much. The assignments aren't hard, but I was uninterested in the class activities. She has her heart in the right place and tries to help, but she is a bit past her teaching peak.

If you acted in high school then this class is a waste of time. Everything we have done I knew already. But if you need to take it, it's very easy. One five page paper and one big memorization 4-6 scene. Other than that improve stuff and memorization of small lines.

This course provided good exercises to develop acting skills. improv, monologues, scenes. No midterm.Peggy is a little crazy. does not shy from crit,but cares about your development. The homework is online discussions on chapters from the text. Eventually I stopped reading it until the question was posted and just found the section applicable.

Would recommend her to everyone! Fun class activities and by the end, you'll know everybodys name. She's funny and sweet and makes you feel like a good actor :P I would take her again for sure! Only critique: she never hands back work or posts grades on BB, so you won't know your grade til the end. Easy A though! TAKE HER! :]

SHE IS THE BEST! She is the cutest thing and is so passionate about her job. She really is a great teacher. I suggest if you can get into the class take her. Also she is the advisor for acting minors if any of you are interested on taking acting as a minor shes your gal.

Professor is a character... She can be loud and crazy, but her class is fun. Easiest A ever, you just have to have entertaining scenes. Really fun if your class is good. Requires very little work outside of class. Definitely take this class!

PEGGY IS AWESOME! i was scared about this class but i loved it! she does a lot of fun acting games for the first few weeks. just one paper based on your character for the final scene. Very nice and helpful, quirky too. Final scene is fun and you learn a lot about yourself. def take her if you can, fun way to get rid of a gen ed!

Shes very nice, very out there, and very stereotypical "theater." She critiques for way too long sometimes. This class was really fun, and relatively easy. Just a little effort gets you an A. You never get anything back so you have no idea what your grade is, but im sure you could ask if you were worried about it. Definitely take her!

I ended up liking class. She is a nice lady. She can ramble on with her critiquing which gets annoying, and she could do more fun acting games. But it ended up helping me become a better actor. She really wants everyone to do well. Its an easy A, if you show up to class and make effort.
