I loved taking Dr. Vachris. She cares about making students understand the topic and tries her best to give understandable examples. I thought I was going to bomb her class but I managed to get all As and one B in the class. Reading is important but the textbooks aren't too bad! Would definitely recommend.

I was surprised at how she taught. Vachris is a really good teacher and is a lenient grader. She knows a lot and is willing to help you. Her tests are easy and based on the lectures. Just show up to class and listen you will be golden.

I really enjoy her class right now and recommend her. She knows what she is talking about and actually teaches her students what is needed for the tests. She grades fair for sure. You have to earn an A but it is easily obtainable. Always keeps class interesting for lectures. Definitely recommend. One of the only competent econ teachers on campus

The Honors 100 class she taught was Markets and Morality which is very discussion-based. Your grade really relies on the amount you participate and speak in the class. Tests consist of essays, but if you understand the class concepts they aren't too bad.

Wonderful Professor! Her lectures are clear and if you don't understand anything, she is more than willing to take the time and help you come to the conclusion. She is very helpful and gives clear test and assignments so you can get a good grade.

Markets & Morality (HONR 100) is a very discussion-based class with Dr. Vachris. If you do not attend class and participate in the discussions, your grade will suffer. She forces you to participate in the material, which will help you understand it better if you allow it. She was good at explaining things and was a fun professor to have.

Not a very clear or interesting professor. She is very nice and is always willing to answer questions or help during office hours. BUT, she makes her tests almost impossible. Better start studying for them two weeks in advance and you must read the book or you won't pass. Only 2 tests, 1 economic report, and a final.

Tests are very hard. Not too much homework but you must make time in your schedule to study in advance for the tests. If you read a few pages every night you should be able to come out with an A. As for the final, there is no study guide and it is a must to go to her to help you review for it. If not, your looking for days of studying forapoorgrade

Great professor. I've had her for Econ 201 and now AMST 210, got a B in Econ and an A- in 210. Heard a few people complain she's hard or doesn't teach anything, that's because they suck. In econ she taught straight from the book so if you just read the text, she explains everything in class. Same story with AMST 210. I think she's great.

I'm currently enrolled in the class and I'm finding it pretty boring. She's really nice so I don't want to say anything bad about her. If you're not an econ major you'll probably find the class difficult. Also, she is just now beginning to really teach. Before, she mostly just gave examples and ambiguous definitions. Won't take a class w/ again.

Loved her as professor for 201 and 202. As long as you pay attention in class, you don't have to study that much for tests. The tests are straightforward from notes in class.

Dr. Vachris is a very smart woman, but cannot teach economics very well. She doesn't stick to the syllabus for the most part and she isn't at all helpful when you go to her office hours. I studied my butt off for this class and still only got average grades. Very boring voice that puts you to sleep. Only 4 grades the entire semester- 3 exams &essay

80% of the tests comes from the book, doesnt do a good job of teaching what will be on the tests, but she is so nice that it is hard to say anything bad about her. Her voice puts you to sleep very easily. *USE THE ONLINE PRACTICE QUIZES, they are really helpful*

Great professor... a little boring at times, but it's hard to make economics TOO exciting. Definitely reccomend her. As long as you kind of pay attention in class and study a little before tests, you'll do fine.

Pretty boring, homework is easy. Tests seem to be the same for ALL basic Econ classes. Do NOT overthink anything because she'll take off for it. Three tests, no quizzes. No point in getting the book. You'll probably get some ****s in your class who know everything, well, think they do.
