Comment:

Came into class dreading it, but she actually made the class interesting with her discussions. Participation was based on assignments graded in class, lots of group work was involved. Over all Plass was great and made the class less dreadful, she always went out of her way to help everyone

Comment:

Very nice. Loves to answer questions. Tests are very difficult, especially multiple choice format, so be prepared. You have to put in a lot of work to get a good grade. Participate in class because she grades you on it. Don't expect this to be an easy A class.

Comment:

Class lectures are simply going over the readings. She is vague in her assignments but then grades them very tough. There is no logical system in the way she presents material. This class is more memorization of crime trends than anything else. I learned very little. Tests are very hard.

Good teacher overall, just didn't really like the way we solely went over assigned readings versus actual lectures or notes. Tests were kinda hard, one was completely short answer. She's a super nice lady though, would recommend overall.

My biggest complaint is the lack of communication from the professor concerning assignments. Her communication of expectations is not clear. Lectures are based off of the readings.

This class was incredibly interesting for an intro class in the major. Prof Plass has easy, straight to the point lectures. There are a lot of online quizzes on readings but they are easy to get through if you pay attention to the material. There is one long literature review, but I can honestly say I enjoyed going to this class.

Very laid back professor. Knows alot of things about the justice system and tends to just talk about the subject matter rather than in a structured manner. Her papers are easy to do, but her tests will make you want to bang your head with all the a,b or c, a & c, b & c, a & b or all of the above. Just take good notes and read and you'll be fine.

Awesome teacher..really interested in the topic and knows her stuff. If you study for the tests they aren't bad. You write one paper on one book (she splits the class in half by last name...half writes on one book, half on the other) and a couple article reviews that are easy and not time consuming at all. Definitely take this class.

She's a pretty good teacher. Really knows her stuff and kinda funny. It was hard to follow sometimes because I didn't think she was very systematic in her teaching. Her tests are hard so you really need to study for them. Not much reading to do though. If you are willing to put in a fair amount of effort, I would recommend the class.
