I took this class 22 years ago.He was/is a great prof. Inspired me to be one. He cared for his students. I took 2 more courses from him during my undergrad studies. Hot or not not, I did learn plenty of things from him. I owe most of my training as a writing faculty from him. He was very fair and made his class fun for everyone.

Pretty Good Teacher and is smart. Nothing wrong with demonstrating that you deserve your Doctorate. He is demanding, as a good teacher should be, but is retiring after the spring of 2011. Get his class, and if you don't bs all day, you will do great.

He is very arrogant. You must read the material and be prepared to talk in class. His tests consists of essays and quotation identification. You also have a journal entry of at least one page every class period. He is a very demanding teacher, but he tries acting better than the students by showing off how intelligent he is.

I thought he was an excellent teacher. Lots of reading and writing but an enjoyable class. His dicussions are not exactly fun, but he does involve you. I enjoyed the class very much. It can be a challenge but he is very good at what he does and he knows his stuff.

Loved this class. Peter is a great teacher. One caution, you have to read. If you like to read, like me, that is not a problem. If you don't....

This class is a requirement for all English liberal arts majors. He is a nice professor, but he grades extremely hard. I have never had problems writing papers until I took this course. Paper load is quite heavy and he grades extremely hard even on a simple resume assignment. Just be prepared and edit, edit, and edit.

Had him for tech writing and baseball literature. He was pretty tough but fair. Great lectures in the baseball course, knew the subject in both classes. Helpful but little patience with the lazy.

Hot. That's gross. He's old. He is a good teacher. In 305t you have to write a lot of papers, but you do learn if you work. Very helpful.

There are a lot of quizzes and reading to do in this course. I thought that it would be a course about one or maybe two books, but we ended up reading 3 novels and about 15 short stories. At one point we had to read a 300 page novel in a week and a half. In other words, reading every day.

The baseball in literature course does involve a lot of reading since it is a LIT course, so do be ready to do the readings. It involves poetry and 3 or 4 novels. Dr. Carino is a great guy who knows a lot about the topic that he is teaching and therefore makes this class worthwhile and engaging.

Now I didn't read a damn thing in this class and hope to pull off a B or an A, easy. The guy though, can be alright. The class it self, boring as watching grandma's talk about grandpa's. Just be involved for a little while and show up every day, he'll give you what you need for the tests then eas

Dr. Carino is an awesome person. At first I thought he was a little cold, but after a few weeks I got used to his personality and somewhat dry sense of humor. Overall, I like him a lot; he is very helpful and approachable.

Sucessful in teaching us the general concepts. Runs into problems when the Q & A sessions begin, but all-in-all, not a bad prof.

Dr. Carino is one of the best professors I ever had in my life! He expects a lot, but he knows his stuff. I hated American lit. before I took his class, and I went on to earn a graduate degree in it! He's awesome.
