Comment:
Yes, his lectures are boring and he relies too much on PPT, but that's no different than most other professors. His tests are somewhat difficult and based off of CFA questions but he curves so much that even if you do poorly, you can still get a good grade. No homework except for one final group project and a small journal report. Not bad overall

BORING. Yikes, this class is a snoozefest. Dr. Ammerman is lackadaisical in the way he teachers too. Doesn't seem to care very much and kind of condescending at times too. If I were you, I would look elsewhere!

Comment:
Professor Ammerman does not convey material clearly and concisely. There is a lack of structure in his classes and students are left in the dark the entire semester. Not really sure how his grading system works to be honest. It's quite random. He is a nice guy but if you want to learn a thing or two about finance, this class just doesn't cut it.

Prof. Ammerman is a bad teacher. He is extremely lazy and does not care about his students. He rolls his eyes at his students too when they don't know the answer to his dumb questions. Would not recommend! Stay away!

Mr. Ammerman is a nice guy who is very intellectual about finance, statistics and math in general. there is a quiz on the chapter every week which forces you to stay up to date on your reading. there is 2 smaller group project and one stock analysis project at the end. NO MIDTERMS. only one final which is a culmination of the small quizs he gives

Dr. Ammermann is the best professor I've ever taken during my college years. He's really really helpful. He's always willing to explain all of your questions (may up to 10 times) until you get the concepts. Also, he's really knowledgeable about finance field. However, it's not an easy class. 2 midtems + 1 comprehensive final +1 project. Take him!

Love this guy! He is smart - bc he can explain anything you ask! I was afraid of this class, but end up loving Finance and after taking his class, I want to switch my major to FIN. Five Qzs - straight from PPTs and a comprhv. Final. If you study his PPTs and attend class, it is an easy A.

Dr. Peter is awesome. He explains everything clearly and makes you understand if you pay attention. I took him during the summer, we had a quiz every week. They were a bit hard but they were doable. I got an A and I really learned a lot from him. If you're a finance major, take him to learn. Cumulative final, open book and notes and laptops.

Dr. Pete is a really nice guy however it seems like he is better suited teaching more advanced finance courses. He posts notes on BeachBoard and there are 2 (difficult MC) midterms and a cumulative final. Grade based on exams, a group project and attendance. Book didn’t help much at all. He curves grades at the end.

Smart Professor but cannot explain the course in layman's terms. Try reading a bond primer before the course starts. Book is dry and not used too much. Just study the PP and lecture notes. Overall, Fin 485 is useful but Fin 450 is close to being a waste of time.

This class is hard if you actually want to understand the material. Otherwise, there are 3 tests and you can use a one page (front only) note sheet for the first two and 2 note sheets (front & back) for the final. There is a group project, which he waited until 2 weeks before class was over to tell us what we needed to do...annoying.

He's a good teacher and knows his stuff very well, actually too well he spends so much time explaining things. For exam he expects you to know everything meaning there's no study guide! He grades on a curve & alows formula sheet for test. There's also a group project that is kind of confusing and therefore have to spend time figuring things out.

This is my second semester taking this professor, and I have to say that I've really grown to enjoy his teachings. When you read his slides, you can't help to laugh, because you see the humor he tries to add. His tests can be hard, be he is such a great guy, he'll try is hardest to make you learn.

1/3 midterm, 1/3 final, 1/3 homework(easy, you copy the back of the book)& participation. Harder that ECON 333, so plan on spending a lot of time studying. Great guy, but too smart to teach!

Like everyone else is saying, he's nice BUT he doesn't know how to teach. He goes over PP Slides & takes forever to explain things. He has a monotone voice that makes it even worse. The class is very similar to FIN 350 (Investment Principles). Memorize his idolsm, eg. Graham, Sharpe, Buffet etc.
