I remember taking this class with him in 98'! A humorous lecturer and nice person who made first year English as enjoyable as it could be. Subjective marker (like most English profs) so talk to him and seek his help, and you will do well.

OHMIGOD! I don't know know why but I had a crush on this guy for the whole year that I was in his class. Plus he is an incredibly smart and helpful professor who had a great influence on my love for Canadian literature.

Took his class a couple years ago, and I still think about the class. Felt like the class got to know each other really well with class discussions etc. He lets you choose what you want to write about, and helps you get going. Wants you to learn and enjoy

Peter has a wicked sense of humour, and damn! Sexy! I'm not sure why, but he was . . . and maybe those who complained about his marking weren't creative and/or competent enough for the class . . . I did very well. Good feedback too, though illegible!

Peter is the best prof I've had at UBC. He made the subjects interesting, he brought humour, personality, and passion to the class, and he's just a great teacher. I reccomend taking his class.

I like him. He is very open and encouraging to new ideas and opinions, but most of all, he gives positive feedback on marked work, ....a trait that more english prof's should adopt, especially in 1st and 2nd year classes.

He was scary at first, but after a few classes, he's a really good guy. He's very helpful and gives good readings. He is, however, a hard marker. But if you're decent in english, you'll enjoy his class.

I must say he is a good teacher, however his marking scheme is way beyond the "level" of what he teaches. He believes we should be able to write like Ph.D. Level which is impossible.
