I can honestly say that personally, Prof Chen was great. Something i really liked about his class was that he teaches from pure memory, he doesn't use the book. Stats in general is not an easy topic so you need to show up to every class because he does cover a lot of material. But he continuously goes over it within the next three classes or so.

he'll teach things in his own way. it can be confusing at first (esp. with his accent) but he'll go over the material again & clear things up. he covers a lot during each class so don't miss out. he'll give examples which will basically be the ones on the exam. I recommend taking him if you don't need to know stats in the future & just need to pass

He's one of the nicest professors. He reviews everything you learn in class before a test and cares if you understand the material. Don't skip class beucase he covers a lot of material. Tests are basically class questions with diffferent numbers. Book is not nessacary.

Dr. Chen is awesome. Take his summer Math 1300 class if you struggle with math. He made it really easy. He was funny and understanding. One of the best professors I have had at WP (especially in the math department).

Dr. Chen is Awesome professor. Beg of class is tough, he teaches a new topic in one class quickly, then more slowly the next class. Dont sweat it in beg; he'll give diff techniques 2 solve for the same q's. He is willing 2 help u, answers all ur q's. Very smart but x make u feel stupid. Don't use textbook, only his notes in class. Go 2 every class.

He really did make a difficult class easy. I always saw him for extra help and if he knows you're really trying, he'll encourage and help you. He reviews everything literally hundreds of times. It might not make sense in the beginning but out of no where everything will click. He likes to see his students are trying. Great prof.

Extremely helpful professor!!!I had taken this course with a different professor and I was completely lost but after taking this course with Professor Chen I actually understood and enjoyed stats. He gives you several chances to pass with a good grade as long as you ask him several questions and put in the effort.

professor chen is hilarious, he's a fun teacher, and he has a great sense of humor. He uses realistic examples to teach statistic methods. if ur gona take stats, you have to take this guy. He does a lot of review, so dont worry if you fall behind.

I love this class. This professor made a subject that is intimidating and hard very approachable and comprehensible. He focuses on helping student learn the concept and lenient on bonus points to push grades up! He made this class fun and less horrifying and would recommend him!!!!!!Will not need book1 Very practical professor!

Very helpful and clear. His accent is not a big deal, you can understand him fine. Great professor,made a hard course kinda easy. I didn't think I could get a C,and I got a B. The most well rounded professor I ever had. Mid term is 35%, Final 45%, and project 20%. If you fail mid term and do well on the final, he keeps what you got on the final.

was overal a very easy class. stats in general not easy. does alot of practice problems to get you to understand. have 3 exams and 1 project. no attendence policy. will drop lowest grade, if you score higher on the other tests. tests are short, exect final. 10-15 problems. prepare you for it though. pay attention, copy problems, ask for help. A+

He was nice but the class was hard. He puts examples on the projector but does not give actual handouts. I had a hard time in the class, but math is not my strong suit. don't buy the book. he also doesn't answer emails. The final was really hard unless u are a stats major b/c there were not written handouts just explanations.

Professor is absolutely clear on what he teaches. Repeats problems until everyone understands. Pay attention, show some effort, take notes during class and you will get an A. No question made math very interesting. Statistics was interesting with Professor Chen.

Comment:

Very tough class & it's hard to understand and wording on exams are bad. Final exam is 40% of grade if u get B C or D if you get an A or F then it's 100% of your grade. He gives a project that is tough & confusing and due at the final exam. Which means you get the stress of waiting on two grades rather than one. End of semester really gets tough.
