Prof Mackey tries hard to teach well. Lectures focus more on social implications of technology more than technology itself. There are copious amounts of homework and group assignments but the trade-off is having no tests. Prof Mackey tries to teach this class on an almost graduate level but few in class comprehend or take the discussions off topic.

Professor is very current and high-tech. Projects are plentiful and challenging, but fair. Students in this class should be up to all challenges he presents. Is not an easy grader; expects you to really work and understand the material. Very popular professor with the tech crowd and is involved with student groups.

Bad instructor. Ex: in one class he went on and on about Doctype declarations, but failed to explain why you need one. He also had us draft up a plan for our final website, but didn't explain the concept until after we submitted our plan. Visit the class website-the most poorly designed, scatalogical monstrosity a person could come up with.

If you've ever done anything with HTML before, this class is easy. The hard thing is that there's quite a few assignments that will keep you busy, but they won't really overwhelm you. Make sure you do everything exactly how it says on the assignment guidelines. If you do that you're pretty much guaranteed a 10/10 on it.

I did learn some useful things with Mackey, he's not terrible but he's so ANAL about everything. A real headache having class with this guy. Doesn't always teach everything he should in class-but you can go to his workshops FRI EVENING for help cuz that's how everyone wants to spend their Fridays!
